Abstract: A system and method of stacking chairs which includes arranging stackable chairs in multiple substacks separately coupled together, and mounting one substack on another with a forklift using auxiliary lift means removably provided on each substack to be lifted. According to another aspect of the invention, a method is provided for palletizing stackable chairs of the type having frames configured such that, when stacked, each stacked chair is offset toward the front of the chair on which it is stacked, the method comprising providing a pallet having an upper surface defining a generally horizontal plane and having a riser on the upper surface proximate the perimeter thereof, and creating a stack of the chairs on the pallet with the front legs of the bottom chair on the riser.

Abstract: A lift bed having a bed frame with a mattress-supporting platform pivotally mounted on a side wall of the frame so as to function as the lid for a storage compartment within the frame, which also includes pull-out side drawers alongside the storage compartment, and a unified locking mechanism capable of simultaneously locking the drawers and storage compartment. A bellcrank drives a locking member for the storage compartment and a locking member for the drawers, the latter locking member extending freely from the bellcrank to a wall separating the storage compartment from the side drawers. The bed frame includes multifunction corner brackets each of which interconnects perpendicular walls of the frame, hingedly supports the platform, and secures one end of a gas spring which assists in lifting the platform.

Abstract: A multifunction chair with a floor rocker detachable from a base that is usable as a stool. The floor rocker and base are readily attached and detached by means of a quick-release mechanism having first and second couplers on the floor rocker and the seat plate of the base, respectively. The first coupler includes a rearward projection from a cross-member on the rocker and has left and right side latch mechanisms below the rear portion of the seat of the rocker, the latch mechanisms each having a laterally movable latch bolt. The second coupler is an integral part of the seat plate.

Abstract: A lockable cabinet comprising a case, a drawer, a ganging lock mechanism, and a lock box recessed into the case. The lock box contains an external lock for securing the cabinet through a hasp style locking structure. The ganging lock mechanism prevents drawers from slidably moving from the cabinet when in the locked position and allows the drawers to be slidably moved to an open position when in the unlocked position.

Abstract: A modular multiple bed unit having first and second beds connected together at right angles using mating rail brackets each defining a quick-release coupler. A bracket with quick-release coupler is provided at each of the two spaced locations on the side of one rail of the first bed, and a bracket with a mating quick-release coupler is provided on the end of each rail of the second bed for perpendicular connection of the rails of the second bed to the one rail of the first bed. In one embodiment, a stud is formed on each bracket on the rail of the first bed to engage a hook on an L-shaped bracket on the end of a corresponding rail of the second bed.

Abstract: A keyboard drawer with self-retracting mouse platform beneath the desktop of a desk is slidably engaged between first and second parallel vertical members extending downward from the desktop. The mouse platform is pivotally connected atop a sidewall of the keyboard drawer such that one of the vertical members provides a pivot point for pivoting the mouse platform from an extended position, in front of the vertical member, to a retracted position, over the keyboard drawer. The mouse platform is pivoted when it contacts the pivot point during movement of the keyboard drawer from an open position in front of the desktop to a closed position beneath the desktop.

Abstract: A sub-assembly for a multiple bed unit having an elongate bed rail and a bed end including a pair of spaced, substantially vertical posts affixed to a side of the bed rail. Each of the posts includes a rail connector for receiving a rail of another bed. A multiple bed unit includes a first bed having a pair of bed ends, a side rail and a sub-assembly connected between and supported by the bed ends, and a second bed having a bed end and at least one side rail connected between the bed end of the second bed and the bed end of the sub-assembly of the first bed.

Abstract: A sub-assembly for a multiple bed unit having an elongate bed rail and a bed end including a pair of spaced, substantially vertical posts affixed to a side of the bed rail. Each of the posts includes a rail connector for receiving a rail of another bed.
