The example backpack may comprise one or more shoulder straps. The one or more shoulder straps may be coupled to the main body. The one or more shoulder straps may be configured to extend adjacent a first surface of the main body. The example backpack may comprise one or more multi-use stays. The one or more multi-use stays may be disposed adjacent the first surface of the main body. The one or more multi-use stays may comprise a generally curvilinear stay body configured to provide support to the main body. The stay body may comprise a first utility feature disposed adjacent at least one of a pair of longitudinal ends thereof. The stay body may comprise a second utility feature formed therein between the longitudinal ends.

Abstract: A backpack with improved shoulder straps includes a set of fold-over panels formed respectively on the shoulder straps, wherein each of the fold-over panels extends from an inner side of the shoulder strap on which it is formed, folds over the shoulder strap, and attaches to an outer side of the shoulder strap on which it is formed. The improved shoulder straps mitigate chafing around the neck of a user.

The ergonomic telescoping handle assembly of the present invention allows a user to use the luggage using just one hand. Furthermore, the ergonomic telescoping handle assembly shifts the weight of the bag onto the bag, rather than the user's arm, reducing strain on the user's arm, and it provides for a greater space between the user's heel and the bag, reducing the chance that the user will kick the bag while walking. Finally, the ergonomic telescoping handle assembly of the present invention is stored compactly within the luggage, maximizing the volume available within the luggage for storage of personal items.
