Abstract: A filtered smoking article includes a smoking body, a filter including a filter member and an air-permeable paper, and having a flavor capsule arranged therein, and a tipping paper. The flavor capsule includes a capsule body, and a colored content liquid containing a flavor component. The air-permeable paper is arranged to be opposed to a region in which the colored content liquid is released when the flavor capsule is crushed, and has an air permeability of 1,000 C.U. to 30,000 C.U. The tipping paper is impermeable to the colored content liquid, and includes at least three transparent parts. Each of the transparent parts is arranged to be opposed to the region in which the colored content liquid is released.
Abstract: Provided is a battery unit including: a power supply; a detector configured to detect an output voltage of the power supply; a connecting configured to be connectable with a load for atomizing an aerosol source or heating a flavor source; and a controller capable of executing a power supply mode in which electric power is supplied to the load from the power supply. The controller executes a specific control different from the supply of electric power to the load based on am amount of change in the output voltage per a predetermined time period in the power supply mode.
Abstract: A filtered smoking article includes an aerosol generation rod, a filter disposed at a downstream end of the aerosol generation rod, and tipping paper wrapped around a downstream end part of the aerosol generation rod and an outer circumferential surface of the filter and connecting the aerosol generation rod and the filter. The tipping paper is paper containing bleached pulp and unbleached pulp, and fibers of the unbleached pulp have a length of 1 mm to 4 mm and a thickness of 20 ?m to 70 ?m.

Abstract: A power supply unit for an aerosol inhaler includes: a power supply able to discharge power to a load for generating an aerosol from an aerosol source; a connector able to be electrically connected to an external power supply; a control device configured to control at least one of charging and discharging of the power supply or configured to be able to convert power which is input from the connector into charging power for the power supply; and a zener diode provided between the connector and the control device so as to be connected in parallel with the control device. A maximum value of zener voltage of the zener diode is lower than a maximum operation guarantee voltage of the control device.

A control device for an aerosol inhalator includes a first sensor for obtaining a first value relating to a temperature of a load which atomizes an aerosol source stored in a reservoir or retained by an aerosol base using heat generated by supply of electric power, a second sensor configured to detect an inhalation, and a controller, wherein the controller is configured to determine, based on a second value based on the first value and a threshold, whether the aerosol source in the reservoir or the aerosol base is depleted or insufficient (850A), and correct at least one of the second value and the threshold when detecting the inhalation (840) and, in the determination, compare the second value and the threshold, at least one of the second value and the threshold being corrected (842).

A percentage weight loss of the paper from room temperature to 290° C. is less than 20% of a percentage weight loss of the paper from room temperature to 900° C. under a condition that allows air to flow at a flow rate of 100 mL/min while elevating a temperature of the air at a speed of 10° C./min.
Abstract: An anti-HIV agent containing, as an active ingredient, ex, 4-oxoquinoline compound represented by the following formula [I] wherein each symbol is as defined in the specification, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compound of the present invention has HIV integrase inhibitory action and is useful as an anti-HIV agent for the prophylaxis or therapy of AIDS. Moreover, by a combined use with other anti-HIV agents such as protease inhibitors, reverse transcriptase inhibitors and the like, the compound can become a more effective anti-HIV agent. Since the compound has high inhibitory activity specific for integrases, it can provide a safe pharmaceutical agent with a fewer side effects for human.

Abstract: A smoking system includes a consumable containing a smokable substance and a device that includes a chamber receiving the consumable and heats and atomizes the smokable substance of the consumable received in the chamber. The chamber includes an opening through which the consumable is inserted and a holding unit that holds the consumable. The holding unit includes a first pressing unit which presses a part of the consumable. The consumable includes a first portion having a first hardness and a second portion having a second hardness, in which the second portion is a different portion from the first portion in the insertion direction of the consumable. When the consumable is positioned at the desired position in the chamber, the consumable is positioned such that at least a part of the first portion is pressed against the first pressing unit, while at the same time, at least a part of the second portion is pressed against the first pressing unit.
