    Abstract: An automatic message announcement system for trains in the railroad station premises, including a train tracking circuit which tracks the location of approaching train, a trains information memory which stores information concerning each train, an edition circuit which combines the train information read out from said train information memory and a series of message patterns which include portions to be completed and which edits the message patterns to produce a series of short messages arranged sequentially according of their priority order to the content, an announcement message selection circuit which determines up to which short message among those arranged sequentially according to said priority order should be announced, in accordance with the location of the train at the time the announcement starts, and an automatic announcement system which includes a voice memory containing addressable voice segments for annoucing the message determined above.

    Abstract: An improvement in an inductive repulsion type vehicle magnetic levitation and guide system for a curved track in which the vehicle is levitated by an electromagnetic force generated between levitation conductors having the same time constant and laid in two parallel rows on the ground at specific intervals in the direction of travel of the vehicle and levitation superconductive magnets on the vehicle capable of being electromagnetically coupled with the levitation conductors, the magnets being opposed to the levitation conductors at a specific distance from the levitation conductors. The vehicle is guided by an electromagnetic force generated between guide conductors having the same time constant successively positioned at specific intervals in the direction of travel of the vehicle and guide superconductive magnets mounted on the vehicle opposed to the guide conductors at a specific distance from the guide conductors.

    Abstract: An automatic message announcement system for announcing the approach, arrival, and departure of vehicles such as trains at a train station. An addressable voice memory is provided for storing sequences of voice segments which are read out upon receipt of announcement command input signals to form messages for announcing that a vehicle is approaching or has arrived or is departing, with specific information such as the vehicle's destination being included in the announcement by inserting the appropriate voice segments at the proper points in the sequence. The messages are composed in such a manner that the sequences of voice segments can be altered to form shorter, but still intelligible, messages if vehicles traffic is so heavy that one message is due for announcement before the previous announcement is completed.

    Abstract: In an induced repulsion type magnetic suspension system for a railway vehicle, superconductive magnets of opposite polarities are alternately set at specific intervals in the longitudinal direction of vehicle, while in the longitudinal direction of the track conductive loop coils or conductive sheets are continuously set at specific intervals, whereby the repulsion due to the eddy current caused by a voltage induced in said conductive loop coils or conductive sheets by the superconductive magnets and said superconductive magnets levitates the vehicle. In this invention, an additional source to produce a magnetic field of the same polarity is provided on the vehicle; and thereby a magnetic flux with the same period as the vehicle vibration is applied which intersects said conductive loop coils or conductive sheets on the ground when the vehicle vibrates.

    Abstract: A butt welding and burr shearing machine for metal rod, e.g., reinforce steel has opposed relatively slidable clamping devices (8, 9), which has positioning clamp (10) and pivotable clamp lever to clamp the rod by lever action. One of the clamping devices mounts split type shear dies by the positioning clamp and the clamp lever respectively. In the cutting position of the shear dies 21, 22 the rod F2 is not clamped by the clamping device 10 on which the shear dies are mounted.By a series of simple operations the rods to be jointed are loaded sideways, clamped by rotating clamp lever, and pressure butt welded, and bulge formed by welding process is sheared off. The completed rod is removed sideways.

The injected layer is composed of an injection material injected through openings formed in the tie. The injection material has a viscosity below 30 poise at a temperature not higher than 200.degree. C. before hardening, and when hardened it has a compressive stress at 10% strain of 0.4 to 30kg/cm.sup.2 at a compressive strain rate at 40.degree. C. of 1.5% per minute.

The light projector, the reflection mirror for light projection, the reflection mirror for light reception and the light receptor are arranged so that the light emitted from the light source in the light projector passes through the slit and, being reflected by the reflection mirror for light projection, is converged onto a measuring axis connecting the points as to which measurement is being made on the opposed rails which constitute the track at at least one of the rails to form a bright spot or band of light.

    Abstract: A track displacement detecting and measuring system in which track displacement data are obtained as usual for a unit chord length of the track according to the conventional three-point measuring method by sensors mounted on three predetermined parts of a track inspection car, and such measured data are processed by an arithmetic or processing device of relatively simple structure to detect the amount of track displacement occurring over a track distance which is two or four times the unit chord length. In the system, an improved gyro device free from the adverse effect of rolling of the car is employed so as to permit precise detection of vertical track displacement irrespective of the track distance.

    Abstract: A process for excavating and constructing a tunnel, and an excavating device are disclosed. This process is directed to excavating and constructing a tunnel under a railway or a road on a banking or on level land in the direction transverse to the railway or road. In this process, pits are dug on the opposite sides of the railway, and then an excavator digs into the wall of a pit on one side so as to go out of the wall of the other pit through the ground left therebetween. In this respect, a hollow casing unit of a box shape is coupled to the rear end of the excavator equipped with a screw conveyor. As the excavator advances or digs forwards a given distance, another casing unit is in turn coupled to the rear end of the preceding casing unit, and then such a step is repeated, until the excavator goes out of the wall of another pit. In this manner, the excavator further digs into the wall of one pit in the position adjacent to the preceding run of casing units.
