Publication number: 20100022961Abstract: A wound dressing, which is easy to apply in very few steps, the dressing having a thin film section surrounded by a thicker outside border section. The border section provides rigidity to the dressing by virtue of being thicker than the inner thin film portion of the dressing. The wound dressing has a film on one side of the dressing layer and a release sheet on a skin-contacting side of the dressing layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 21, 2007Publication date: January 28, 2010Applicant: Jentec , Inc.Inventor: James C. Publication number: 20070016123Abstract: A wound dressing having a dressing layer covered by backing layer on one side. The opposite side is a skin-contacting surface covered by a first release sheet and a second release sheet. The first release sheet is folded into an area that covers the dressing layer in a first release sheet region. The other side of the fold provides a pull tab area that permits removal of the first release sheet from the dressing layer. The second release sheet covers the skin-contacting surface in a second release sheet region.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 18, 2005Publication date: January 18, 2007Applicant: Jentec, Inc.Inventor: Jarl Jensen

Publication number: 20050277860Abstract: A wound dressing having a dressing layer covered by protective cover layer and a release sheet. The dressing has an adhesive composition on a skin-contacting surface. The adhesive composition comprises a highly water-absorbable material (e.g. hydrocolloid), an acrylic adhesive and a tackifier. The composition provides extended stay-on capabilities. The composition also provides an adhesive that is removed from the skin with little pain to the on the skin.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2004Publication date: December 15, 2005Applicant: Jentec, Inc.Inventor: Jarl Jensen

Patent number: 6878385Abstract: A dressing for preventing and treating blisters and for treating corns, calluses, warts, and other skin conditions. The dressing has a dressing layer covered by protective cover layer and a release sheet. The dressing has an adhesive composition on a skin-contacting surface. The dressing layer has a thick center portion surrounded by a flange portion. The thick portion has a thickness of less than 1.0 mm. and preferably a thickness of 0.5 mm. The flange portion has a thickness of 0.15 to 0.20 mm. and extends no more than 5.0 mm. from the edge of the thick portion. The configuration of the dressing layer, particularly when used with a hydrocolloid adhesive provides a dressing having wrinkle resistant edges allowing the dressing to be used in areas of the body having high mobility.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1999Date of Patent: April 12, 2005Assignee: Jentec, Inc.Inventors: Jarl B. Jensen, Carsten Fredsbo

Patent number: 6616642Abstract: A dressing for use with ostomy devices. The dressing has a dressing layer covered by protective cover layer and a release sheet. The dressing has an adhesive composition on a skin-contacting surface. The dressing layer has a thick center portion surrounded by a flange portion with a hole to accommodate the ostomy device. The thick portion has a thickness of less than 2.0 mm. and preferably a thickness of 0.91 mm. The flange portion has a thickness of 0.15 to 1.80 mm. and extends no more than 5.0 mm. from the edge of the thick portion. The configuration of the dressing layer, particularly when used with a hydrocolloid adhesive provides a dressing having wrinkle resistant edges allowing the dressing to be used in areas of the body having high mobility.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2000Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Jentec, Inc.Inventors: Jarl B. Composition for wound dressings safely using metallic compounds to produce anti-microbial properties
Patent number: 6592888Abstract: A wound dressing having a metallic compound as an anti-microbial agent. The dressing includes a dressing layer that contacts a patient's skin at the wound bed. The composition of the dressing layer includes metallic compounds in which metallic ions, such as silver, are maintained in the dressing composition. The metallic compound is combined with a hydrocolloid adhesive to provide a highly absorbing dressing. As exudate is absorbed, contact with the metallic ions provides the anti-microbial effect. The metallic ions may be maintained in compounds such as zeolite and hydroxyl apatite mixed with a hydrocolloid adhesive.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2000Date of Patent: July 15, 2003Assignee: Jentec, Inc.Inventors: Jarl B.
