Patents Assigned to Jersey Central Power & Light Company
  • Patent number: 11861687
Abstract: A system for conducting a computer-based, simultaneous, multiple round, descending clock auction for basic generation services includes a web server for receiving bid data for one or more users for basic generation service products, an application server host application software, which processes the one or more bids according to at least one auction rule, tracks the auction, monitors the auction, and/or determines when to end the auction, and a database server, which stores auction data. A method of conducting a computer-based, simultaneous, multiple round, descending clock auction for basic generation services includes the repeating steps of receiving bids indicating desired tranche units of basic generation service products, calculating next round prices for each product, and sending round results to bidders. The system for and method of conducting a computer-based auction includes receiving and processing a withdrawal request or a switch request from at least one of the qualified bidders.

  • Patent number: 9940666
Abstract: A system and method of conducting a computer-based, simultaneous, multiple round, descending clock auction for basic generation services (BGS) includes receiving bids by an application server host application for processing bids according to auction rules, for tranche units of BGS products, calculating next round prices, and sending round results to bidders, the subsequent round prices and a notice of the number of tranches bid during the previous round and/or the amount of excess supply offered. Subsequently, an electronic withdrawal request to remove tranches from a product and reduce a maximum number bids the bidder can make in future rounds, and/or bidder exit price, is received, but may be partially or fully refused. When the number of tranches bid are equal to or less than a certain threshold for each of the products, the auction may end and bidders are awarded an ending price for each of the products won.

  • Patent number: 5952617
Abstract: A power transformer is provided with a housing having a plurality of apertures for receipt of a bushing well of a bushing assembly. Each bushing assembly includes a bushing well adapted to be secure in one aperture of the power transformer, and a bushing adapted to be connected to a terminal in the bushing well to permit the conducting of electric current between the bushing assembly and the transformer. The bushing assembly further includes a connector for connecting the bushing conductor to a terminal positioned in the bushing well. The power transformer includes a cap to cover and isolate the unused bushing wells. The cap is preferably a plate structure that attaches to the lip of the bushing well and uses the dielectric formed by the air enclosed by the cap and the bushing well to prevent sparking over to adjacent sites, corona discharge, and accidental contact with a live terminal therein, and to guards against contamination of the bushing well.

  • Patent number: 5889465
Abstract: A power service unit suited for providing conditioned power to a consuming device at a remote location. The power service unit includes a charger/rectifier, a back-up power supply, together an automated dialer that contacts a central monitor in the event there is a disruption in the operation of the power service unit. The charger/rectifier accepts an external AC power and converts the external AC power to an internal DC power. The internal DC power maintains the back-up power supply in a fully charged state and the converter accepts the internal DC power and converts the internal DC power to an external DC power as required by the consuming device.
