    Abstract: The present invention provides a process for preparing polycarboxylic acid imidazolines of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein X is --Cl, --OH, --O--SO.sub.3 H, --O--PO.sub.3 H.sub.2, --O--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --COOH, --NH.sub.2, --NHalk or --N(alk).sub.2, alk being an alkyl radical containing up to 6 carbon atoms, n is a whole number of from 2 to 4, R is a C.sub.8 -C.sub.18 hydrocarbon radical which is straight-chained, branched, saturated or one to three times unsaturated, m is a whole number of from 2 to 5, R' is a hydrogen atom or a carboxyl group and R" is a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical. In the process, a compound of the formula ##STR2## in which R, X and n are as defined above, is condensed with about a 2- to 5-fold excess of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, maleic acid or a mixture thereof.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a composition and a method for producing a composition that is an acidic, viscous, stable cleaning agent with a scouring action. The cleaning agent comprises an anionic surfactant comprised of a linear alkylbenzenesulphonate or alkane sulphonate in an amount of 1 to 10% by weight; a non-ionic surfactant comprising a fatty alcohol oxyethylate in an amount of about 0.5 to 2% by weight; fatty acids with a carbon chain length of C.sub.12 -C.sub.18 in an amount of about 0.1 to 0.5% by weight; mono- or sesquiterpenes or mixtures thereof in an amount of 0-2% by weight; a silicone in an amount of about 0.5 to 2% by weight; scouring agents in the form of alumina mixtures of various particle sizes in an amount of about 20 to 60% by weight; acids for the adjustment of a pH value of 2.5 to 4 in the form of a mixture of citric acid and amidosulphonic acid; and water, perfume oil, coloring materials added to provide a total of 100% by weight.

    Abstract: A non-caking and freely flowing granulated composition of high abrasion-resistance which comprises a polymer phosphate and an ion-exchanging alkali metal aluminum silicate is disclosed. At least part of the polymer phosphate in said composition is a highly condensed phosphate, preferably of a phosphorous pentoxide-content between about 64% and about 69%. Said polymer phosphate may contain sodium tripolyphosphate in an amount between about 95% and 0% by weight and preferably between 80% and 60% by weight. Such a composition may also contain a water-soluble tenside which is liquid at room temperature. The process of producing such a granulated composition comprising a highly condensed phosphate and an alkali metal aluminum silicate, comprises granulation of the mixture of polymer phosphate and alkali metal aluminum silicate by spraying water or a tenside solution thereon.

    Abstract: A preparation for inhibiting scale formation in aqueous media with a high threshold activity is prepared by condensation of 2 moles of a mixture of acetic acid anhydride and an acetylhalide in the proportion of 0.2:1.8 to 1.8:0.2 with 0.6 moles to 1 mole crotonaldehyde, thereafter with 0.6 moles to 1 mole of acrylic acid, followed by condensation with 0.6 moles to 1 mole of maleic acid anhydride, and finally by oxidation with nitric acid without isolating any of the resulting intermediate products. Said preparation is added in amounts of 10 mg. to 200 mg. to each liter of aqueous medium to exert its scale formation inhibiting, chelating, sequestering, and/or complexing effect.
