  • Patent number: 7490715
Abstract: Link chain with improved wear resistance as well as method of manufacturing such a link chain. For manufacturing of a link chain, several chain links (39; 40) comprising link pins (41) or plates provided with coatings being applied by means of a PVD process are assembled. The coatings consist of hard material layers and/or slide material layers. It is possible that no PVD coating is provided on a transition zone (1a; 4) of elements (41; 42) used for the manufacturing of the chain links predetermined for connection with another element (42; 41).

  • Patent number: 6736255
Abstract: It is the intention to improve a conveyor system for supplying small parts to a chain assembling unit, the system comprising a track system transporting the small parts, and a feed device loading the track system with the small parts. To this end the track system comprises at least two loading tracks which are loadable by the feed device with small parts, and at least one feed track which passes the small parts onwards to the chain assembling unit and communicates with at least one corresponding loading track, the number of the feed tracks being smaller than the number of the loading tracks, and the at least one feed track being selectively connectable to at least one other corresponding loading track for conveying the small parts.

  • Patent number: 6490853
Abstract: A method for joining a plate chain link is to be improved, in which at least one plate is connected to at least one bolt by way of a pressing and aligning process. This is achieved by the measures that the bolt is centered in relation to a main chain axis by the simultaneous active application of symmetrical clamping forces to the faces and the least one plate is pushed by a joining lift relative to the bolt into a position symmetrical to the main chain axis. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for carrying out the method.

  • Patent number: 6196376
Abstract: The present invention refers to a support device for applying a lateral guiding force in the case of side-arc link chains, comprising a side-arc link chain and a support element moving together with said side-arc link chain and supporting it laterally on the inner side of the chain arc. For providing a support device of the type cited at the start which requires much less constructional outlay and can be produced at a much more moderate price and which, in addition, requires little mounting space, the present invention is so conceived that the support element is defined by an endless traction means which is guided with the aid of deflection means and supported by guide means.

  • Patent number: 5984817
Abstract: Chain wheel for a chain drive assembly having a driven and/or driving chain wheel including teeth and tooth spaces, the flanks or profiles of which optionally are defined by circle sections or involutes, each tooth space being designed with a concave roll bed having a geometrically defined center of curvature continued into the adjacent entry and exit profiles, wherein said tooth space is designed asymmetrically on behalf of the steepnesses of its entry and exit profiles and related to a reference plane containing said center of curvature and the axis of said chain wheel.

  • Patent number: 5980408
Abstract: A chain wheel for a chain drive with a chain wheel comprising a damping rim of elastically deformable material at at least one axial side of said chain wheel, said damping rim including circumferentially alternating elevations, each with a peak portion and indentations, of which said elevations are intended for a radial overlap contact with straps or side bars of a chain engaging into teeth and tooth spaces of a toothing comprising in each tooth space inlet and exit profiles and an intermediate roll bed, the peak portion of each elevation being arranged within a circumferentially limited portion of said chain wheel that is defined by a reference plane containing the chain wheel axis and the center of curvature of said roll bed and by the extension of said entry profile in the tooth space.

  • Patent number: 5820502
Abstract: In a tension or guide rail (S) for a chain drive, especially in an internal combustion engine, with the rail comprising a carrier (T) formed from filled or reinforced plastics for carrying a slideway lining body (B) of plastics which is connected to the carrier in form-fit and friction-locked fashion, the carrier (T) and the slideway lining body (B) are separately prefabricated constructional units, and the prefabricated slideway lining body (B) is subsequently connected mechanically to the prefabricated carrier (T) by means of form-fit and friction-locking elements.

  • Patent number: 5637047
Abstract: There is described a hydraulic tensioner (1, 101) for endless transmission elements, in particular a chain tensioner for internal combustion engines. The tensioner includes a housing (2, 102), a pressure chamber (3, 103) arranged in the housing, a piston (4, 104) which is movable in the pressure chamber (3, 103), a hydraulic fluid supply to the pressure chamber (3, 103), a check valve (20, 120) which is arranged within the hydraulic fluid supply and is acted upon by pressure in the pressure chamber (3, 103), and a means (11, 111) for automatically reducing the pressure in the pressure chamber (3, 103). To provide such a tensioner with a pressure-relief valve (11, 112) for automatically reducing pressure in the pressure chamber (3, 103), i.e., in a manner which is simple under constructional and technical manufacturing aspects and also reliable, the check valve (20, 120) should be connected to the valve member (12, 122) of the pressure-relief valve (11, 111).
