Patents Assigned to Joh. Winklhofer & Soehne GmbH und Co. KG
  • Patent number: 7534181
Abstract: A chain drive, especially to a camshaft/camshaft drive for a motor vehicle engine, comprising at least two chain wheels and one drive chain. The gear rims of the at least two chain wheels are arranged to be laterally offset to each other in the axial direction. The chain drive is performed as a multiple chain, wherein each of the offset gear rims of the chain wheels have their own track of the multiple chain due to the lateral displacement of the gear rims. The tip diameters of the offset gear rims and the chain wheels are overlapping. At least one support wheel is provided laterally next to a gear rim of an associated chain wheel, which engages into the empty track of the multiple chain not engaged with the gear rim of the associated chain wheel and is driven together with the associated chain wheel.

  • Patent number: 7473197
Abstract: A method of producing a movable tensioning element of a tensioning device for tensioning flexible drive means, in particular for timing chain drives of internal combustion engines, the tensioning element having at least a tensioning piston and a tensioning rail made of a plastic material, with the tensioning rail being arranged on a tensioning end of the tensioning piston. A correspondingly implemented tensioning element as well as a tensioning device including such a tensioning element is provided. The method of producing the movable tensioning element includes placing the tensioning piston into an injection mold suitable for producing the tensioning rail; injecting the plastic material into the injection mold; encompassing the tensioning piston by the plastic material in certain areas thereof; and letting the plastic material solidify under formation of a positive connection between the tensioning piston and the tensioning rail.

  • Publication number: 20040214673
Abstract: The present invention relates to a toothed chain comprising plates interconnected on chain joints, in particular tooth plates, each of the chain joints comprising a pin bolt and at least two substantially directly adjacently arranged tooth plates whose aligned joint openings surround a respective pin bolt. The wear characteristics of such a toothed chain shall be improved. To this end, the edge portions of the joint openings are rounded at the opposite sides of at least the outer ones of the adjacently arranged tooth plates for a wear-reducing nestling of the pin bolt in case of load. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method of producing a toothed chain.

  • Patent number: 6629596
Abstract: The present invention relates to a conveyor chain comprising inner chain links and outer chain links which are arranged in alternating succession and which are interconnected by respective chain hinges, a chain hinge comprising a sleeve of the inner chain link and a pin forming part of the outer chain link and extending through the sleeve. The functionality of such a conveyor chain is to be extended. For this purpose, at least one brush element is provided, which comprises at least one fastening reception, and the brush element is attached via the fastening reception to the inner and/or outer chain link(s) such that it is essentially in positive engagement therewith. The present invention also relates to a brush element for a conveyor chain of the type in question.

  • Patent number: 6330788
Abstract: A plate chain comprising outer and inner chain links which are interconnected at joint places formed as slide bearings, with each joint place formed by a sleeve of the inner chain link and by a pin bolt of the outer chain link which rotates in the sleeve substantially about its own axis. The wear characteristics of the resulting joint places are improved. At least one portion of the lateral surface of the pin bolt and an associated portion of the inner surface of the sleeve have a different circumferential contour at the pulling side, so that the pin bolt is supported on the sleeve at least two circumferentially spaced-apart points or lines of contact at the pulling side. A method for producing chain members includes forming a sleeve with a joint trough.
