Patents Assigned to Jokab Safety
  • Patent number: 7468594
Abstract: The present invention relates to a safety system for use in protection functions, which system prevents that an error in one control circuit do not result in a function failure by using supervising functions comprising at least two sensors connected to a monitoring unit which receives and processes information about a position of a machine from both sensors and compares the results with stored values and a number of input conditions for the monitoring unit, whereby said sensors comprise means for generating data with respect to a position of a machine movement and said monitoring unit comprises means, which with respect to the result of the comparison is arranged to stop a machine movement if conditions for a stop are fulfilled. The monitoring unit is arranged to compare values from said sensors and when detecting deviating value from either one of sensors detecting a functional error with the sensors.

  • Patent number: 7446273
Abstract: A safety lockout system deactivates a safety switch to interrupt unintentional electrical current flow or signals controlled by a safety switch which is used on door-like closures. The switch generally comprises two components: one mounted on a moveable closure and the other mounted on an adjacent fixed member, such as a door frame. When the two components are aligned and closely adjacent to each other, as when the closure is in closed position, the switch allows current to flow to an electrically powered device. But when the closure is in its open position, the components are not aligned or closely arranged next to each other so that the lockout system automatically deactivates the switch which then prevents unintentional current flow to the device. The closure and the adjacent fixed member are normally locked together by a slider element which engages a keeper element when the closure is in its closed position.

  • Patent number: 7429929
Abstract: A safety device includes a safety module (11), a data bus (12) and one or several transmitters (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20). The safety module transmits a pulse train (one dynamic signal) over the bus (12) constituting a loop, whereby the pulse train is connected to each of the transmitters, wherein the pulse is phase inverted.

  • Patent number: 7096380
Abstract: The present invention relates to a programmable safety system intended to be used for safety functions, in which a fault in a control circuit does not lead to a safety function being disabled, which system comprises monitoring functions containing at least two control units, input terminals separately coupled to both control units, whereby each control unit executes its own instruction set and continuously compares a result from the execution with each other. At least one control unit can access the in and output terminal status of a second control unit and/or a number of flags, and the control units are arranged to monitor the result of respectively executed instruction sets and control that the results of the executions are substantially equivalent.

  • Patent number: 6733221
Abstract: Insert nut for a screw nut joint of the type which comprises a substantially rectangular block, of which the short side substantially corresponds to the width of the outer groove portion in a T-formed groove, which outer groove portion is delimited by side flanges in a profile or the like and which inner groove portion is expanded relative to the outer groove portion. The long side of the insert nut substantially corresponds to the width of the inner groove portion, and which nut by rotation can be transversally positioned and be brought into contact with the underside of the side flanges of the groove. The nut is designed with a substantially quadratic shoulder section, which is arranged concentric with the threaded hole of the nut, and with substantially the same width as the short side of the nut.

  • Patent number: 6603306
Abstract: A proximity switch for detecting a target in proximity with the proximity switch as a wireless transmitter for transmitting a first pulsed signal having a first carrier frequency to the target. The proximity switch also includes a wireless receiver for receiving a second pulsed signal having a second carrier frequency different from the first carrier frequency from the target. The proximity switch has a controller for providing an output indicative of whether a predetermined correspondence is satisfied between the first and second pulsed signals.

  • Patent number: 6236553
Abstract: A safety relay for supervising and ensuring safe operation of a machine industrial process and corresponding safety devices and actuators. The safety relay has at least one input, which is monitored for short circuits and open circuits, for connection to said safety devices and actuators, at least one output for connection to said machine or process, one or more than one stop relay for maintaining and interrupting, respectively, the connection to said machine or process depending on a momentary status of said safety devices and actuators, and a reset circuit with at least one capacitor and a reset input. The capacitor receives and stores electrical energy in a first state, while discharging the electrical energy in a second state for resetting the safety relay to a normal state of operation.
