  • Patent number: 5816088
Abstract: Fatigue-resistance is significantly increased by performing shot peening using fine shots. A plurality of particles of hard metal having a diameter ranging from 20 to 100 micrometers are ejected onto a surface of a steel workpiece at an impinging speed greater than 80 m/second. The impinging speed is controlled so that the upper limit of temperature rising of the surface of the workpiece is maintained at a temperature more than 150.degree. C. but less than the temperature at which recovery recrystallization and austentizing of steel occurs.

  • Patent number: 4914892
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for packaging an article with a thermoplastic resin film in which the film is rolled on the two rolls on both side so that an intermediate region thereof may be extended in tension condition between the rolls, and an article to be packaged is fed through a space between the rolls so as to push against the extended intermediate region of the film and be wrapped therewith, and overlapped portions of the wrapping film are set in parallel with the surface of the article and are fused together, and at the same time are cut so that there may be obtained such a fused adhesion line on the overlapped portions of the film that extends in the lateral width of the film and is longer in length than the width of the film, so that there is obtained the packaged article in which the fused overlapped portions of the packaging film is laid along on the surface of the article and, on the other hand, there is obtained an intermediate region of the film which is extended between the two rolls a

  • Patent number: 4294657
Abstract: The apparatus for manufacturing the fiberboard is in the form of two vertically opposed endless conveyors upon each of which a fiber layer is formed. Each conveyor has a slanted running portion as a part thereof. A suction box is disposed along the inner surface of each of the slanted running portions so that a fiber layer producing section is formed in each slanted portion. A passage is formed between the conveyors to direct a slurry flow of fibers along each conveyor. The relative speeds of the slurry flow through the passage along the surface of the conveyors is adjusted to be different than the running speed of the conveyors; a supply duct for the slurry flow is disposed in the center of said passage and has an outlet near the upper ends of the fiber layer forming sections. The two layers simultaneously formed can be placed upon each other to form a single layer of fiberboard.

  • Patent number: 4270289
Abstract: A card holder for a rotary type information retrieving device such as a telephone number list, address list, and so on, in which a plurality of information-containing card cases are hangingly supported between a pair of mutually spaced rotary discs. In the present invention, a plurality of pins are projectively provided on the mutually opposed surfaces of the pair of rotary discs around their circumference and at an equal space interval provided among them, and a plurality of the information-containing card cases are hangingly supported between the rotary discs by the inwardly projected pins thereon. Each card case is formed by folding a single sheet of film material into a folder shape, and its bent portion, either in a single U-shape or in a circular shape in its cross-section, is made a pin insertion engagement part.

  • Patent number: 4236334
Abstract: A rotary type index in which a multiplicity of information containing cards are arranged around a cylindrical drum and the drum is rotated to display information-containing surfaces of the cards in a viewing window is provided with a mechanism for causing a plurality of the information cards to be brought into position with a single selection key. This is as distinguished from the conventional drum type machine in which the number of selection switches equals the number of information cards.
