    Abstract: An electronic locker system which is provided with: a locker for housing luggage; a reading means for electrically reading a depositor identifier that has been preliminarily determined by a contract between a managing company of the locker and a user of the locker; an electronic lock for locking the door of the locker after luggage has been deposited in the locker; and a central control unit which, based upon the depositor identifier read by the reading means, sends information of the corresponding depositor to a locker managing center through a communication line, and when, at the time of taking out the luggage, the read depositor identifier has been identified, releases the electric lock and sends necessary information such as a luggage deposit fee to the locker managing center through the communication line, and in this arrangement, the luggage depositing process and luggage taking-out process to and from the locker are carried out based upon only the depositor identifier.

    Abstract: In a door-lock-opening method for a home delivery locker which includes a home delivery locker and a managing company that are connected to each other through a line, the managing company controlling depositing and taking-out processes of the home delivery locker, a person who wishes to take out a parcel addressed to the person from the home delivery locker is allowed to communicate with the managing company through a mobile terminal such as a mobile telephone, and in the case when the company has confirmed that the person who made contact therewith is a registered user of the home delivery locker, the company releases the lock of the door of the home delivery locker housing the parcel.

    Abstract: In the case of parcels delivered by an automatic delivery system, all tenants in an apartment, etc., agree to receive parcels by a box; however, in the case of registered mails, in particular, registered mails with cash, some tenants do not agree to receive these from a delivery box because of fear of theft, etc. The resulting problem is that the delivery box is not used for delivering registered mails. A delivery box capable of handling a registered mail is provided with: a memory 22 for preliminarily memorizing kinds of registered mails that are not accepted by receivers, with respect to each of the receivers; a barcode reader 12d for reading electronic information of a registered mail; a judgment device 21 for making a judgment as to whether or not the kind of the registered mail read by the electronic information reader is permitted by a destination receiver as an acceptable mail; and a device for opening a lid 13 of a registered mail locker when the registered mail has been judged as an acceptable mail.

    Abstract: When a legitimate recipient of a package or tenant loses a card issued to him or her for unlocking a particular locker of a locker cabinet, there is a problem that he or she cannot unlock the locker to open the same and pick up a package of merchandise deposited in the locker. An unlock system of a particular locker wherein a person who desires to unlock a particular locker makes contact with a control center to that effect through a communication line such that the control center authenticates personal identification of the person by calling said person at home, and the control center accesses a memory of the locker through the communication line to confirm that said locker is deposited with a package of merchandise therein and then, the control center unlocks the locker through the communication line.

In the case of a conventional pick-up process of a parcel, it is not possible to confirm whether or not any parcel has arrived, until the receiver has come home and see a notice inside the mail post; therefore, the resulting problem is that, in the case of any urgent parcel, the receiver has to go to the mail box many times to see whether there is any notice therein.
