  • Patent number: 7322709
Abstract: A door-mirror-controlling apparatus includes an ECU, a velocity detector, a turn-signal lamp, and a DC motor; the ECU includes an MPU and a motor driver circuit. The velocity detector detects the velocity of an automobile, and outputs a velocity signal to the ECU. The MPU outputs an outer-turn-start signal to the motor driver circuit when the turn-signal lamp is blinking while the automobile is moving at a predetermined velocity or more. When the motor driver circuit receives the outer-turn-start signal, it outputs a signal to the DC motor and the DC motor rotates such that a reflective surface of a mirror turns outward, away from the automobile, compared to its original state.

Abstract: A backrest of a motorcycle is provided with a pair of angle-adjusting units. In each angle-adjusting unit, a metal arm of the backrest is pivotally connected, by a connecting shaft, to an inner side of each of a seat stay mounted along a side of a seat. A retaining unit selectively and detachably retains a lower end of the metal arm at a plurality of retaining positions. The retaining unit is biased by a biasing member in a retaining direction.

  • Publication number: 20050173406
Abstract: A grip heater controlling apparatus controls an amount of current supplied from a power supply to a grip heater mounted on a handle grip on the steering handle of a motorcycle. The grip heater controlling apparatus has a single momentary switch operable by the driver of the motorcycle, and an amount-of-current controller for changing the amount of current cyclically to at least three levels, including 0, depending on the number of times that the momentary switch is operated.

  • Patent number: 5659887
Abstract: In an audio message communication apparatus for an automobile, a portable radiotelephone is supported on a holder which is mounted forwardly of a driving compartment. An external amplifier and an external microphone are connected through the holder to an earphone microphone terminal of the radiotelephone. The external amplifier is connected to an external speaker for amplifying a received audio signal of the radiotelephone which is converted into a voice so as to be generated in a form of a loud voice. A transmitting voice is entered through the external microphone into the radiotelephone. With the above construction, the audio message communication is effectively achieved with an operator's hands free.

  • Patent number: 5418836
Abstract: A radiotelephone equipment for use in a vehicle is constructed in such a way that a telephone function unit and a transceiver are incorporated together in a case as a unitary member and the case is designed to have the same external form and size as those of a fitting recess for audio equipment which is provided on the center console serving as a supporting section within a compartment of the vehicle. The fitting recess is designed to have the same required standard size as that determined for the external form of the audio equipment, whereby the vehicular radiotelephone equipment and the audio equipment can be fitted together in the compartment of the vehicle to enhance the unity therein.

  • Patent number: 5263093
Abstract: In a close talking microphone device in use for a communication apparatus for a motorcycle, a front casing 2 and a back casing 3 are provided with a front opening 7 and a back opening respectively. Elastic supporting members 5, 6 and 15 for a microphone 4 are accommodated through a first and second filters 11 and 12 between the front casing 2 and the back casing 3 and formed thereon with first, second and third through holes 13, 14 and 16 connected to each other. The microphone 4 is engaged within the third through hole to form a pair of sound paths at each front and back side of the microphone 4. The front sound path is smaller in volume than the back sound path and the opening size of the through hole 13 is defined narrower than that of the through hole 14, whereby a sideward noise diverges into two courses "a" and "b" and the diverging noises reaching the microphone are cancelled by each other so as to be dampened.
