  • Patent number: 4523889
Abstract: An automatic workpiece delivery apparatus includes a support member mounted on a body for vertical movement. A slide bar is supported by the support member for horizontal movement and has a pair of workpiece holders at its opposite ends. First and second cams are mounted on a common cam shaft. First and second cam mechanisms are operable respectively in response to the cam surfaces of the first and second cams. A first displacement transmitting mechanism operatively connects the first cam mechanism to the slide bar for displacing the slide bar horizontally. A second displacement transmitting mechanism operatively connects the second cam mechanism to the support member for displacing the support member vertically. A motor has an output shaft connected to the cam shaft for rotating the first and second cams.

  • Patent number: 4487409
Abstract: An automatic feeding apparatus is disclosed which includes an arm having at one end a hand for holding a workpiece and which is pivotally mounted at the other end in a vertically movable manner, a swinging member that is swung by a swinging mechanism driven by a single motor and which is swung to move the other end of the arm vertically, and a guide member that is shifted along a guide groove in conjunction with the swinging motion of the swinging member to control the movement of the one end of the arm holding the workpiece. The guide groove consists of a curved area that controls a horizontal movement of the one end of the arm and straight areas that control the vertical movements of the one end of the arm at each extremity of the horizontal movement. The swinging action of the swinging member causes the hand to move horizontally between the feed position and working position of the workpiece and to move vertically by a predetermined distance at each position.

  • Patent number: 4439092
Abstract: An apparatus for unloading a workpiece from a pressing machine includes a power cylinder mounted on the pressing machine and having a horizontally movable piston rod. An operating rod is mounted on the pressing machine in parallel relation to the piston rod and is horizontally movable. The stroke of the operating rod is shorter than the stroke of the piston rod. A linkage assembly is attached to the forward ends of the piston rod and operating rod so that the operating rod is moved horizontally together with the piston rod during its stroke. The linkage assembly has a forward end which is vertically moved toward and away from a die of the press upon the horizontal movement of the piston rod relative to the operating rod at a final portion of the extending stroke thereof and at an initial portion of the retracting stroke thereof. A plurality of suction cups are connected to the forward end of the linkage assembly.

  • Patent number: 4368022
Abstract: A feeding apparatus in pressing machine which performs sequential predetermined pressing operations on a workpiece at two or more working positions spaced by given intervals, which includes a holder means provided in such a manner that it can be reciprocated between adjacent working positions a suction means that is held by said holder means and which stops applying suction to the workpiece at one of said working positions, and a pivoting mechanism for pivoting said holder means to a position where it does not interfere with the pressing operation of said pressing machine, the workpiece under suction of the suction means at one working position being sent to the next working position by the movement of the holder means and retracted to said non-interfering position by pivoting said holder means after said suction means stops applying suction to the workpiece and before the pressing machine starts to operate.
