Patents Assigned to Kabushiki Kaisha Shikutani
  • Patent number: 4269571
Abstract: Blowing apparatus suspensible from one's shoulder is provided with a centrifugal fan, in which air is axially sucked and blown off. The fan has a rotor coupled with the output shaft of a prime mover and a casing common to the housing of the apparatus. The housing consists of front, mid and rear coverings, the rear covering being connected with the mid covering to surround the prime mover. The front covering is interiorly formed with fixed vanes similar to the rotary vanes on the rotor. The mid covering has radial stays supporting a central ring to which the casing of the prime mover is removably secured. The front covering is air-tightly connected to the mid covering to define an annular space, an axial entrance and an axial exit with the conical and cylindrical walls of the mid covering. The rotor is disposed and rotated in the space, in which air is centrifugally compressed along the rotary vanes in the rear side of the rotor to peripherally transfer to the front side.

  • Patent number: 4132507
Abstract: Blowing apparatus suspensible from one's shoulder is provided with an axial blower having the rotor thereof coupled with the crankshaft of a gasoline engine. The stator blades of the blower are removably fixed peripherally to the housing of blower and partially to the casing of the engine. The engine does not require a cooling fan because it is sufficiently cooled by the suction-air flowing around. Further an independent fuel tank is not required because of a hollow guide disposed in front of the rotor and serving as a fuel storage. The nozzle, flexible tube, and the discharge housing of the blower can be made of synthetic plastics in the form of a single annular body without any connecting means. Consequently, the apparatus of the present invention is remarkably light and compact.

  • Patent number: 4093240
Abstract: Plunger sealing and lubricating apparatus for horizontal plunger pumps including a front sealing packing and the front half of a back sealing packing lubricated with water which is provided from the suction chamber and leaks from the front sealing packing. The back half of the back sealing being lubricated with oil provided by the oiling packing behind the back sealing packing. The back sealing packing acts as a water-tight barrier and makes such a wide frictional contact with the plunger to prevent water from leaking. Thus, resulting in the return of water to the suction chamber from a space between the front and back sealing packings through a passage connecting the space with the suction chamber. By the use of the apparatus, a secondary liquid line can be introduced to the suction side of the pump to which the main liquid line is connected.

  • Patent number: 4091538
Abstract: An apparatus is equipped with a non-metallic thick string of a diameter greater than 0.10 inches for cutting wild vegetation in the forest. The string is endwisely wedged into an acute slot formed in a top spool-like casing and directly wound about the cylindrical portion of the casing. The initial portion of the string with a somewhat large bent is received within the hollow portion in the cylindrical portion without disturbing the orderly coiling of the string about the casing. The coiled string is protected by a bottom cover which is detachably mounted on the casing and locked for rotation therewith. The free end of the coiled string extends outwardly from the cover through one of guide ports provided in the peripheral wall of the cover, in order to form a cutting flail with an effective working length.

  • Patent number: 4024635
Abstract: A mowing apparatus of the type having a rotatable disk-like casing containing one or more rolls of flatly and concentrically coiled string made of a high polymer synthetic material. Each coil of the string is interconnected at at least one point to the adjacent coil by the help of a fixing element so that it can be laterally payed out without the disjoining of the coil. The free end extends through the respective guide ports, outwardly from the casing in order to form a cutting flail with an effective working length.

  • Patent number: 4020552
Abstract: An improved mowing apparatus of the type having a rotatable reel-like casing about which a cutting string made of a high polymer synthetic material is directly wound. The coiled string is protected by a cap which is detachably mounted on the casing and locked for rotation therewith. The free end of the coiled string extends outwardly from the cap through one of guide ports provided in the peripheral wall of the cap, in order to form a cutting flail with an effective working length. The cap is elastically arranged to disengage from locking engagement with the casing for rotation relative thereto, so that the string may easily be payed out as the working flail becomes shortened through wear.
