  • Patent number: 5353559
Abstract: An anti-earthquake bearing apparatus for bearing the weight of a structure and reducing the vibration energy propagating to the structure by using bearing bodies disposed between the structure and a foundation or another structure has spherical bag-like bearing bodies serving as said bearing bodies formed by sealing a fluid, rubber-like solid or gas into bags constituted by a rubber-sheet material reinforced with fiber. Each bag-like bearing body is provided with charging/discharging ports. Recesses for preventing positional shift of said bag-like bearing bodies are formed on the bottom surface of the structure and on the upper surface of the foundation.

  • Patent number: 5216887
Abstract: A radiative-type air-conditioning unit capable of being freely moved to and set in different positions, and used to deal with the problems concerning the unevenly distributed heat loads in a closed office in which a plurality of office automation (OA) machines are installed. This radiation air-conditioner consists of a radiation endothermic/radiating plate including a radiation generating surface (21) formed on one side surface of a panel (20), a plurality of thermoelectric elements (22) attached to the other side surface of the panel (20), and a plurality of heat exchanger means (25) attached to the other surfaces of these thermoelectric elements (22). Accordingly, noise does not occur in this radiation air-conditioner, and maintenance work therefor is substantially not required. Since this radiation air-conditioner can be installed in a small space owing to its small weight and thickness and compact structure, it is used very extensively.

  • Patent number: 5123783
Abstract: A method of reusing a slurry in a ground improving method, wherein a hardening agent is injected into the ground, and wherein the muddy water (i.e., the slurry which is discharged) upon working is regenerated and again used as an injection material; namely, a hardening agent. By measuring the physical amount indicative of the permeability characteristic of the hardening agent contained in the slurry, an amount of hardening agent contained in the collected slurry (i.e., an amount of hardening agent to be collected) is calculated. Since the amount of collected hardening agent is calculated simultaneously with the collection of the slurry, the amount of hardening agent to be newly injected can be controlled in a real-time manner on the basis of the latest data (i.e., numerical value).

  • Patent number: 4978181
Abstract: A sunshade composed of a transparent substrate, a first base and a second base which are provided on the both surfaces of the substrate, an infrared ray-reflecting layer which is provided on the first base and which reflects infrared rays, and a sun light-reflecting layer which is provided on the second base and which reflects a sun radiant energy with partly transmitting visible rays. The infrared ray-reflecting layer may optionally be coated with a protective layer. At least one of the protective layer, the first base and the second base has a rough surface which may diffusively reflect the light as reflected by the infrared ray-reflecting layer and the sun light-reflecting layer. In place of formation of the rough surface, a light-diffusing agent may be incorporated into the substrate, the both bases or the protective layer.
