Abstract: A flame-retarded textile fabric comprising (A) 85 to 15 parts by weight of a fiber comprising a polymer containing 17 to 86% by weight of a halogen, and 6 to 50% by weight of an Sb compound based on the polymer, and (B) 15 to 85 parts by weight of at least one fiber selected from the group consisting of natural fibers and chemical fibers, the total amount of the fibers (A) and (B) being 100 parts by weight. The textile fiber has not only the desired flame resistance but also excellent visual feeling, feeling of touchness, hygroscopic property, washing resistance, durability, and the like.
Abstract: A coated article with metallic finish which comprises a base layer of a paint containing metallic powder and, if necessary, color pigment applied to the substrate and a topcoat applied to said base layer, said topcoat being formed by applying and curing a coating material composed mainly of a silyl group-containing vinyl polymer or copolymer having the main chain composed substantially of a vinyl polymer and at least one silicon atom connected to a hydrolyzable group at the terminal or side chain per molecule.
Abstract: A process and apparatus for preparing pre-expanded particles of a thermoplastic resin which comprises; heating under an elevated pressure an aqueous dispersion comprising thermoplastic resin particles containing a volatile foaming agent and an aqueous medium in a pressure vessel; releasing the dispersion from the pressure vessel into a space within a sealed low-pressure vessel wherein the pressure is lower than that in the pressure vessel, whereby expanding the thermoplastic resin particles to give pre-expanded particles; and simultaneously recovering the foaming agent volatilized from the thermoplastic resin particles by discharging the foaming agent out of the space in the low-pressure vessel with controlling the pressure in the low-pressure vessel to substantially a given pressure. According to the process, the release of the volatile foaming agent into the air is prevented.
Abstract: A composition comprising (a) an organic compound having at least one hydrolyzable silyl group and (b) an organic amine and/or an alkali metal hydroxide. The composition is curable upon exposure to moisture, and has superior properties, such as hardness, toughness and stain resistance, when used for example as a coating. The composition can be utilized as a coating material.
