Abstract: A method and arrangement for compensation of thermally induced depolarising effects in an optical resonator employ a retroreflective prism effecting multiple instances of total internal reflection as one end mirror of the resonator. The retroreflective prism has a first roof edge face pair made of two perpendicular roof edge faces and at least one second face with total internal reflection or a second roof edge face pair. Laser radiation entering parallel to the optical axis of the resonator undergoes total internal reflection through an angle ? at the second face or the second roof edge face pair before it undergoes total internal reflection at the first roof edge face pair and emerges again from the retroreflective prism in a manner parallel to the optical axis of the resonator following another instance of total internal reflection at the second face or the second roof edge face pair.

Abstract: A fibre laser assembly includes a pump laser assembly for optical pumping of an active fibre with first pump radiation of a first pump wavelength and means for the generation of second pump radiation at a second pump wavelength, which lies between the first pump wavelength and the wavelength of the seed laser. Doping concentration, length of the active fibre, and power of the first pump radiation are coordinated such that the active fibre absorbs the first pump radiation in the first fibre portion to >90%, the radiation of the second pump wavelength in the first fibre portion is amplified by the first pump radiation to generate the second pump radiation, and the laser radiation of the seed laser is amplified in the remaining second fibre portion by the second pump radiation.

Abstract: A device is provided for ultrasound-based reflection and transmission tomography. A plurality of ultrasonic transducers are held around an imaging volume to be filled with an ultrasonic coupling medium, the transducer holder having an opening for inserting, into the imaging volume, at least one part of a body to be imaged. During imaging, the body to be imaged is supported, where a support-member-opening allows access to the transducer holder by at least one part of the body. A diaphragm is arranged across the support-member-opening such that a center of a diaphragm-opening is placed substantially at a predetermined position. The ultrasonic coupling medium flows out of the imaging volume when at least one part of the body to be imaged is inserted into the imaging volume filled with the ultrasonic coupling medium and/or during imaging.

  • Patent number: 11817063
Abstract: A perceived gamut (PG) of a physical display device presenting frames of an image sequence to a human viewer may be increased. An interface of the system receives a sequence of frames from an image sequence source with each frame having input color data associated with each pixel of the respective frame, the input color data being given in a specified color space. A perceived color computation module computes for each particular frame of the received image sequence perceived colors of each pixel and a frame-specific adapted white point. An optimizer module applies a chromatic adaptation transformation to each window frame to determine display gamut adjusted perceived colors of each pixel of the respective frame and an error per window frame. The chromatic adaptation transformation is updated for all window frames to minimize the determined error, and the current frame is output to the display.
