  • Patent number: 4927306
Abstract: A screw grommet of synthetic resin having an enlarged head part adapted for abutment against the surface of a mounting panel, a shank adapted for engagement with an oblong fitting hole bored in the mounting panel, a pair of integral shoulders extending from opposite walls of the shank, and a pair of integral elastic arms extending at a prescribed angle from the other pair of opposite walls of the shank. The pair of elastic arms and the pair of engaging shoulders engage with the corresponding edges of the oblong fitting hole in the mounting panel. The screw grommets are always retained in the correct posture in the oblong fitting holes and absorb errors in manufacture or fabrication. The screw grommets are also capable of absorbing variations in the relative positions of the fitting holes in the panel and the through-holes in a part to be attached caused by expansion or contraction due to a change in temperature.

  • Patent number: 4834573
Abstract: A fitting structure includes a shaft member of metal provided at the leading end part thereof with check projections formed integrally thereon, and a cap of synthetic resin formed of a main body and a lid member. The main body is provided therein with an insertion groove permitting insertion therein of the leading end part of the shaft member provided with the check porjections. The insertion groove is adapted to be closed by the lid member of the cap. Owing to this structure, the cap can be fitted to the leading end of the shaft member by a single operation of closing the insertion groove with the lid member. The fitting work involved in the structure of this invention, therefore, is extremely simple. While the cap is formed of the two component parts, i.e. the main body and the lid member, neither the main body nor the lid member is required to have any screw thread therein. Thus, the metal mold to be used for the formation of the cap is inexpensive and the cap itself can be produced inexpensively.

  • Patent number: 4807622
Abstract: A tube cutting and separating implement for a conduit comprising a grasping body formed to insert the conduit therethrough and having a first section separable from a separating portion and a second section. The first and second sections respectively have first and second flow stopping portions for grasping the conduit to stop the flow and first and second holding portions for holding the flow stopping state. A cutter is disposed at the first or second section at a position displaced from the flow stopping portions for cutting the conduit. Thus, the implement can stop flow at two positions of the conduit by a simple operation and cut the conduit and separate the implement into two sections so as to allow a patient to simply and rapidly be released without loss of blood in case of an emergency.

  • Patent number: 4776440
Abstract: A shock absorber comprises a cylinder with a cylindrical bore, an actuator piston with a rod slidably received in the bore, and an adjustment piston slidably received in the bore and resiliently kept in a predetermined position. The adjustment piston cooperates with the actuator piston to define an adjustment chamber therebetween. The adjustment piston is movable in response to pressure developing within the adjustment chamber to vary a rate of air flow between the adjustment chamber and the ambient atmosphere so as to decelerate the actuator piston during its extending movement relative to the cylinder, thus providing a slow and gradual extending movement of the actuator piston.

  • Patent number: 4588220
Abstract: In a structure for removably mounting a support rod for an openable closure member such as engine hood, trunk lid or the like of a motor vehicle, a retainer member of a plastic material is mounted on at least one end of the support rod, and an anchor member of a plastic material which is adapted for engagement with the retainer member, is mounted in a mounting aperture formed either in the vehicle's body or the openable closure member. By virtue of the engagement between the retainer member and the anchor member, the support rod is removably retained with respect to either the vehicle's body or the openable closure member, thereby supporting the openable closure member at its open position.

  • Patent number: 4570852
Abstract: A drain valve has a construction such that ascent and descent of a drain valve head for opening and closing a discharge port are effected by a combination of two coiled springs, one of which is made of a shape memory effect alloy. The drain valve head is supported so that it is capable of ascending and descending by an inside and outside dual structure of attachment of the two springs alone. Thus, it is made possible to simplify a drain valve construction and to miniaturize a drain valve per se.
