  • Patent number: 8287419
Abstract: A shale shaker comprises a base and at least one deck coupled to the base. The deck is configured to support a mud screen. The shake also comprises a support frame coupled to the base and further includes an asymmetric planetary drive assembly coupled to the support frame for vibrating the support frame and the deck. The asymmetric planetary drive assembly comprises a flywheel gearbox a planetary gear and at least one eccentric weight coupled to the planetary gear. The planetary gear comprises a central axis bore that receives a planetary gear shaft through a central hole in the planetary gear. The gearbox receives a main shaft through a central hole in the flywheel gearbox. The planetary gear shaft is offset from the main shaft. The eccentric weight is coupled to the planetary gear offset from the main shaft.

  • Publication number: 20100059453
Abstract: Systems and methods for de-watering waste drilling fluid. In some embodiments, the de-watering system includes a drilling fluid reclamation system receiving the waste drilling fluid from a wellbore and removing at least some solids from the waste drilling fluid, a manifold combining the waste drilling fluid from the drilling fluid reclamation system and organic polymers, whereby an aggregated mixture of solids in the waste drilling fluid and water are formed, and a centrifuge receiving the aggregated mixture and separating the solids from the water in the aggregated mixture, whereby solid drilling fluid waste and substantially colloidal-free water are formed.

  • Patent number: 6730146
Abstract: A drilling fluid degasser having a weir to more evenly spread the drilling fluid over the leaves of the degasser to increase the efficiency of the degasser is disclosed. Additionally, a plurality of gas vent pipes are provided that ensure that once the gases are removed from the drilling fluid, the gases are removed from the degasser without contacting the drilling fluid to ensure the gases are not mixed into the drilling fluid again.

  • Patent number: 5853583
Abstract: A multi-functional linear motion shaker includes a rectangular outer support frame with a tank, often referred to as a "possum belly", for receiving the incoming drilling fluid flow. A set of adjustable louvers and a tray is positioned on the side of the tank. The adjustable louvers and tray serve to screen out the larger and stickier drill cuttings or solids. A vibrating deck assembly is positioned within the outer support frame adjacent the tank and tray assembly. The vibrating deck assembly is of a double deck design whose upper and lower decks include cross members to support the mud screens. The upper and lower decks are vertically spaced apart and connected together into one unit by vertical structural members. A moveable plate is positioned on the upper deck adjacent the adjustable louvers and tray. This moveable plate can be positioned to direct drilling fluid flow to the upper deck or repositioned to redirect fluid flow to the lower deck and bypass the upper deck.
