Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved a shielded contactor having an insulative material or proxy (9a, 9b) for making reliable electrical contact. Accordingly, the length of the assembled contactor is totally surrounded by conductive material, thereby providing shielding element. Resultantly, the present invention has the capability of eliminating impedance mismatch during the signal transmission.
Abstract: A contactor having an internal air gap (5a, 5b) which provides the lowest dielectric constant is provided to be capable of improving signal integrity electrical performance of a test contactor. Resultantly, the present invention reduces the possibilities of impedance mismatch during signal transmission thereby improving insertion loss and return loss of the signal pins.
