  • Patent number: 5001980
Abstract: A delivery apparatus for a sheet-fed printing press includes a detector, a control unit and a solenoid. The detector detects a moving amount of suction wheels moved by adjustment and generates a signal corresponding to the moving amount. The control unit is connected to the detector and a timing unit of the printing press and generates a signal representing a predetermined length corresponding to the sheet size. The solenoid is located between a powder container and an air source and opens an air path for only a time interval corresponding to the signal supplied from the control unit.

  • Patent number: 4942813
Abstract: An intaglio cylinder for effecting intaglio printing is disposed in contact with an impression cylinder and a blanket cylinder for effecting dry offset printing is disposed in contact with the intaglio cylinder. These cylinders are disposed such that a line interconnecting the axes of the impression cylinder and the intaglio cylinder will make an angle of about 90.degree. with respect to a line interconnecting the axes of the intaglio cylinder and the blanket cylinder. When printing with the printing press described above a method is used comprising the steps of forming an intaglio image on the intaglio cylinder, forming a dry offset image on the blanket cylinder, transferring the dry offset image on the blanket cylinder onto non-image portions of the intaglio cylinder, and simultaneously transferring the dry offset image and the intaglio image on the intaglio cylinder onto a sheet wrapped about the impression cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4899654
Abstract: In a wiping apparatus for an intaglio printing press, a piston rod actuating end of a fluid pressure cylinder is pivotally coupled to each eccentric bearing for supporting the wiping roller, and the fluid pressure cylinder is supported by an adjusting mechanism for slightly moving in an extendable direction of the piston rod. A doctor blade holding member and a press-side support member are coupled by a plurality of fixing screws. The support member is reciprocally supported relative to the press side in an attachment/detachment direction of the doctor blade. The eccentric bearings and both ends of the support member are coupled by cam mechanisms for interlocking pivotal movement of the eccentric bearings with reciprocal movement of the support member. A doctor blade contact pressure fine-adjusting mechanism reciprocates the holding member with respect to the support member. Belleville springs are inserted between heads of fixing screws and the doctor blade holding member.

  • Patent number: 4861016
Abstract: In a delivery safety apparatus for a sheet-fed printing press, regardless of the operation mode of the delivery table lifting unit, a delivery table is automatically moved downward on the basis of a detection result from a pile height detecting means for detecting a sheet pile height exceeding a predetermined position for sheets delivered and stacked on the delivery table. If automatic descending of the delivery table is not started even when a predetermined period of time has elapsed, this abnormal state is detected, and an alarm is generated. When automatic descending is not yet started when another predetermined period of time has elapsed after the alarm is generated, this abnormal state is detected to interrupt delivery of sheets onto the delivery table.

  • Patent number: 4844441
Abstract: A sheet conveyance table for a sheet rotary press disposed in a gap between a plurality of conveyance tapes conveying a sheet fed from a sheet feeder and a feed board. The sheet conveyance table is constituted by stays suspended in the gap perpendicular to the sheet conveyance direction; a pair of support tables, supported at two end portions of the stays, and a plurality of sheet receiving members. The pair of support tables are movable in a widthwise direction of the rotary press to adjust for sheets received from the conveyance tapes having different widths. The support tables also support side registering devices which align one side of the sheet as it passes over the sheet conveyance table. The sheet receiving members are formed by a thin plate material having a substantially U-shape when viewed from the top and are arranged along the stays so that their widths are increased when the support tables are displaced away from each other and reduced upon movement of the support tables towards each other.

  • Patent number: 4831929
Abstract: In a suction member fixing apparatus for a sheet-fed printing press, two side plates are pivotally fitted on two end shafts of a double-diameter cylinder so that the surfaces of the side plates are in contact with end faces of the cylinder body. A fixing shaft having a head portion at one end and a threaded portion at the other end extends through central axial holes of the cylinder body and the two end shafts. Press rods radially extend through base portions of the two end shafts, are in contact with end faces of the side plates opposite to the cylinder body, and are moved upon threadable engagement of a screw member with the threaded portion to fix the side plates and the cylinder body by a surface pressure. Belleville springs are interposed between one press rod and the screw member to absorb extension of the fixing shaft due to an increase in temperature during printing.
