The apparatus includes: a job input unit inputting a job; a job storage storing the job input by the job input unit; a link setting unit linking a new job input from the job input unit and the stored job stored in the job storage, or linking each independent job stored in the job storage; a storage section storing link information indicating the link of jobs set by the ink setting unit; a control section executing predetermined processes based on the link information stored in the storage section; and a print section printing the job.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus has an image bearing member that moves at a specified speed; a toner pattern forming section for forming toner patterns of a specified type on the image bearing member under specified image forming conditions; a toner pattern detection member for detecting the toner patterns formed on the image bearing member; a toner amount varying section for varying a target amount of toner to adhere to the toner patterns; and a control section that calculates a toner adherence amount and a toner adherence position from detection results outputted from the toner pattern detection member and that performs image stabilization control to adjust the image forming conditions based on the calculation results. In the image stabilization control, the control section uses detection results of the same toner patterns both to calculate the toner adherence amount and to calculate the toner adherence position.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an image forming apparatus, including: a language analysis unit for analyzing print data and generating data having an intermediate format between the print data and bitmap data generated based on the print data; an image processing unit for rasterizing the generated data having the intermediate format for each band by using the predetermined number of lines and generating the bitmap data; a memory for holding the data for which rasterizing processing is being performed by the image processing unit; a printing unit for performing printing based on the generated bitmap data; and a number-of-line switching unit for switching the number of lines of the band in the rasterizing processing of the image processing unit according to whether the print data is data that can include transparency processing data or not.

A setting file for setting the characteristics for data sorting in each of data sorting boxes is attached to each of these boxes. Data sorting is carried out on the basis of the setting file. A setting file for setting the characteristics of the reordering of the data in each of data reordering boxes is attached to each of these boxes. Data reordering is carried out on the basis of the setting file. The data that has been reordered is outputted (for example, printed) in the reordered order.
