Publication number: 20230194551Abstract: In the present invention, among blood metabolites, amino acids, organic compounds and oxylipins that were statistically significantly differentiated from the control group, were selected from type 2 diabetes patients. Specifically, asparagine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, cysteine, lysine, citric acid, and uric acid, and 12-oxo ETE, 15-oxo ETE, 9-oxo ODE, and 20-carboxy leukotriene B4, which are oxylipins, were confirmed to have cutoff values of AUC>0.7. In addition, the blood metabolites showed a significant difference between a DME patient group and a non-DME patient group, and thus were confirmed to be usable for accurate diagnosis of DME.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 6, 2021Publication date: June 22, 2023Applicants: KONKUK UNIVERSITY INDUSTRIAL COOPERATION CORPORATION, UNIVERSITY-INDUSTRY COOPERATION GROUP OF KYUNG HEE UNIVERSITYInventors: Choon-Hwan LEE, Jeong-Taek WOO, Sang-Youl RHEE, Eun-Sung JUNG

Patent number: 11441142Abstract: In a method for producing acetoin, butanediol, or butanol from ethanol according to the present invention, a cell-free catalysis method was used by designing an artificial synthetic pathway so that proteins of NOX, EtDH, FLS, BDH, and DDH and variant proteins thereof exhibit cascade catalytic activity as enzymes. Compared to existing fermentation methods using microorganisms, the production method according to the present invention does not require cell growth and has a short synthetic pathway, a fast reaction rate, high yield and productivity, adjustment of targeted reaction conditions is convenient, and butanol may be effectively produced. Moreover, same may be reused numerous times by fixing the proteins to nano-particles, and are also effective for producing acetoin, butanediol, or butanol, thus being economical. Therefore, the production method may be usefully adopted in the relevant industries requiring acetoin, butanediol, or butanol.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2018Date of Patent: September 13, 2022Assignee: KONKUK UNIVERSITY INDUSTRIAL COOPERATION CORPORATIONInventors: Jung-Kul Lee, Liaoyuan Zhang, Jing-Lin Li

Publication number: 20150168563Abstract: The present invention relates to a fiber-optic sensor system for measuring the relative dose of a therapeutic proton beam by measuring Cerenkov radiation and a method of measuring using the same, and more particularly to a fiber-optic sensor system for precisely and economically measuring a proton beam by measuring the Cerenkov radiation generated from a fiber-optic sensor and a method of measuring using the same. The present invention comprises a proton beam source, a fiber-optic sensor for measuring the Bragg peak of the proton beam and SOBP, an optical detector for measuring the Cerenkov radiation, and a pair of optical fibers connecting the fiber-optic sensor and the optical detector, wherein the fiber-optic sensor being irradiated with a proton beam, the Cerenkov radiation generated in the optical fibers themselves is delivered through the optical detector to an amplifier system, and the resulting signal is transferred to a computer.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 23, 2012Publication date: June 18, 2015Applicant: Konkuk University Industrial Cooperation CorporationInventors: Bong Soo Lee, Kyoung Won Jang, Wook Jae Yoo, Sang Hun Shin, Dong Ho Shin
