  • Patent number: 6039171
Abstract: The conveyor system for transporting goods has an endless conveyor belt which is guided about deflection drums in the two end stations. The conveyor belt assembly is provided with support beams oriented transversely to the conveying direction and the support beams are supported on two endless conveyor cables disposed laterally outside the conveyor belt. The cables carry the loads created by the conveying of goods. The endless conveyor cables are also guided about the deflection drums and the transverse support beams are secured to the conveyor cables with spring-loaded clamp assemblies.

  • Patent number: 5893329
Abstract: Persons and/or goods are transported in vehicles which are each equipped with running wheels. The vehicles are connectable to a continuously driven traction cable by which they are driven along a track, such as on rails. A plurality of deceleration wheels and a plurality of acceleration wheels disposed in stations of the system where the vehicles may be loaded and unloaded. In the stations, the vehicles are disconnectable from the traction cable. The vehicles are slowed down by bringing the deceleration wheels into contact therewith and they are accelerated by bringing the acceleration wheels into contact therewith. The deceleration wheels are divided into a plurality of groups and the wheels within each group are driven at the same peripheral speed. Upon transfer of the vehicle from one group of wheels to an adjacent group, the wheels of the two groups are driven at the same speed as well.

  • Patent number: 5626078
Abstract: A cable car system has a suspension and traction cable carrying passenger rriers, such as lift chairs. The cable is guided around two deflection pulleys. A conveyor device conveys passengers from an entrance gate to a boarding point at which the passengers board to carriers. The opening of the entrance gate and the conveyor device are controlled with a central control unit. The central control unit receives signals from various sensors, such as a signal transducer which is tripped when a passenger carrier passes by, and a speed transducer which measures the speed of the suspension and traction cable. A measuring instrument provides information with regard to the distance traversed by a specific passenger carrier which has tripped the signal transducer. The entrance gate is opened by the central control unit as a function of the output signal of the signal transducer and of the measuring instrument, and further on condition that at least one passenger is present at the gate.

  • Patent number: 5528219
Abstract: Sensors distributed along a ropeway communicate with a base station and preferably a base station computer. One type of sensor detects and signals cable misalignments from a normal line of cable traction. Preferably each cable tower has at least one such sensor. Another type of sensor is mounted on a sheave assembly and detects vibrations characteristic of disintegration within the assembly. It produces a sheave problem signal whenever such occurs. Preferably there is one vibration sensor mounted on each sheave assembly. Another type of sensor is preferably mounted on each ropeway carrier for detecting and signaling excessive swings. The sensor signals are communicated to a cable operator so that remedial action can be taken. Each carrier sensor has an RF transmitter for broadcasting its signals to RF receivers mounted on cable towers. Interface units local to sensor groups relay their signals to a base station computer that provides corresponding indicators to the cable operator.

  • Patent number: 5452662
Abstract: A device for coupling a ferry, such as a gondola or chair, to the hoisting r load cable of an overhead cableway system includes a clamping body with rollers. A first clamping jaw is rigidly secured. A second clamping jaw can be swiveled relative to the first clamping jaw. The second clamping jaw is located on one end of a two-armed clamping lever on whose other end a control element, such as a cam roller, is provided. When the control elements cooperates with an actuator, such as a cam rail, the clamping lever is pivoted relative to the clamping body counter to the action of at least one torsion spring. That pivoting causes the second clamping jaw to reach its open position. A toggle joint or elbow joint is provided which connects the torsion spring with the clamping lever.

  • Patent number: 4958574
Abstract: A cable conveyance having a storage region for garaging the carriers which an be decoupled from the transport cable. The carriers are displaced along a transport rail to the storage regions by a reversible drive and are permitted to move by gravity along storage rails into this region or by positively tilting these storage rails back to the transport rail to return to the cable. Thus within the storage region the displacement of the carriers is by gravity only and there is no need to provide a special drive for entrainment of the carriers along the storage rails.

  • Patent number: 4942823
Abstract: A cable conveyance has devices for decoupling the passenger carriers from e cable at an upstream side of a station, a device for recoupling the carriers to the cable at a downstream side of the station and a path of the carriers through the station after the carriers have been decoupled from the cable. This path is formed by a roll in which the carriers are guided and includes decelerating and accelerating stretches in which respective driven rollers engage the carriers. At a control stretch the speed of the carriers can be adjusted relative to a normal speed in response to a sensor of the intercarrier interval to maintain a predetermined carrier spacing on recoupling of the carriers to the cable.

  • Patent number: 4802416
Abstract: In the cableway having a multistrand lift cable, especially a double strand ift cable, with a plurality of couplable and uncouplable conveying means, the lift cable is guided at a driving station by at least two drive disks coupled with each other. The lift cable is formed by a single closed cable loop which is crossed at least once to form a plurality of cable segments. These cable segments are guided near the regions where the conveying means are coupled and uncoupled and in the conveying path parallel and adjacent each other. At least one crossing point of the lift cable loop is positioned between one of those regions and the cable (guide or drive) station associated therewith, near which the lift cable is fed to or guided from at least two guide disks positioned over each other at different heights by a plurality of deflection rolls.
