  • Patent number: 6289711
Abstract: The invention concerns a bending device (10) comprising two shaping dies (12, 14) with shaping chambers (22, 24) in order to round a sheet bar (26) about a core (16). The peripheral lengths of the two shaping chambers (22, 24) are each longer than half the bushing circumference. During a pre-shaping step, the core (16) penetrates a first chamber (22) by a depth which is greater than the bushing radius. The sheet bar (26) is thus shaped in the form of a U. In an intermediate shaping stage, an auxiliary core (18) is placed on the core (16) such that, as the second shaping die (14) moves downwards, only the end of the U-legs of the sheet bar blank (26) are shaped arcuately. When the auxiliary core (18) and part (20) of the first shaping die (12) have been removed, the final bushing shaping process occurs, in which the second shaping die (14) likewise travels over the center of the bushing. The three-stage bending method enables a bushing to be rounded highly accurately and carefully.

  • Patent number: 6027678
Abstract: A process is disclosed for manufacturing thin-walled moldings with a ground layer (4) made of thermoplastic materials and a covering layer (5) made of prefabricated flat covering materials pressed together with the ground layer by a back pressing technique in a form tool (8) having a top die (6) and a bottom die (7). The object of the process is to produce thin-walled moldings having laminated and non-laminated areas in a simple manner, with no danger of damaging sensitive covering layer materials and with non-laminated areas having a high quality surface. For that purpose, during or after back pressure lamination, while or after the two dies are closed, besides at least one molding area (2) laminated with a covering layer by a back pressing technique, at least another area (3) of the molding is produced by injection molding thermoplastic material in the part of the molding cavity (17) in which the area of the molding which is not laminated with a covering layer (5) is produced.

  • Patent number: 5850112
Abstract: A linear motor includes a primary part which is cooled using a coolant circuit to remove heat loss caused in the current-carrying conductor windings so as to prevent excess operational temperatures in the linear motor. In order to allow the linear motor to be used in immediate proximity of a production machine without affecting operation thereof by interference occurring in the work zone and without affecting the work zone through heat released by the linear motor, the primary part is completely encapsulated by an enveloping casing in conjunction with a cooling plate through which coolant flows. The cooling plate represents the element by which the primary part is secured to the machine part to be moved of the production machine.

  • Patent number: 5277567
Abstract: A mixing head for a mold can receive two or more reactive synthetic resin components in a mixing chamber in which a mixing-chamber piston is displaceable to drive the residues into a first calming chamber communicating with the outlet of the mixing chamber. The first calming chamber also has a piston or plunger which can be advanced to drive the residues into a second calming chamber connected to the outlet of the first calming chamber. The second calming chamber has a second piston displacing the mixture into the mold cavity. Because the pistons of the first and second calming chambers can be retracted as the mixture flows through these chambers, a highly effective calming effect can be obtained for the turbulent mixture of the mixing chamber without throttling.
