Patent number: 10864582Abstract: A pocket hole jig system is formed of a plurality of jig segments, wherein each jig segment includes a main body having a drill guide and a lock feature that protrudes outward on a first side of the main body and a recess that protrudes inward on a second side of the main body. The system also includes one or more spacers that have a main body of varying width and a lock feature that protrudes outward on a first side of the main body and a recess that protrudes inward on a second side of the main body. Jig segments and spacers may be connected together by inserting the lock feature of a jig segment or spacer into the recess of an adjacent jig segment or spacer. In one arrangement opposing jig segments and/or spacers lock together with a combination of rotational movement as well as sliding movement.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2019Date of Patent: December 15, 2020Assignee: KREG ENTERPRISES, INC.Inventors: Scott Schaaf, Timothy J. Patent number: 10723002Abstract: An inline clamp system having a base, a shoe having a plurality of teeth and a scroll wheel having a helical feature on a cone shaped surface. The helical feature of the scroll wheel meshes with the teeth of the shoe such that rotation of the scroll wheel in a first rotational direction causes linear movement of the shoe in a first linear direction and rotation of the scroll wheel in a second rotational direction causes linear movement of the shoe in a second linear direction, the first rotational direction being opposite the second rotational direction and the first linear direction being opposite the second linear direction. The scroll wheel rotates around an axis of rotation at a slight angle to the linear plane of movement of the shoe such that the helical feature engages the teeth only on one side of the axis of rotation.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2018Date of Patent: July 28, 2020Assignee: KREG ENTERPRISES, INC.Inventor: Frederick James Good

Patent number: 10328498Abstract: An infinity jig, infinity plug and a method of forming an infinity joint is presented. The infinity jig has a base with a work surface and an upright with a work surface connected to the base at an approximate perpendicular alignment. The upright includes a plurality of drill guides that are positioned such that a portion of a drill bit inserted into the drill guide extends below the work surface of the base. An infinity hole is formed by using a drill bit having a stop collar to drill partially into a workpiece with a portion of the drill bit exiting a connecting surface of the work piece. To form an infinity joint, two workpieces having infinity holes therein are aligned with one another and an infinity plug is inserted in the aligned infinity holes. The infinity plug pulls the two workpieces together providing a tight and aesthetically pleasing joint.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2015Date of Patent: June 25, 2019Assignee: KREG ENTERPRISES, INC.Inventors: Scott L. Patent number: 10183338Abstract: A cam lock connected with a fence assembly includes a handle portion, a top carrier and a bottom carrier connected by a threaded shaft. The handle portion and top carrier are positioned above the fence assembly and a work table or surface; wherein the bottom carrier is positioned below the fence assembly and work table or surface. The top carrier and bottom carrier both have a pair of alignment arms with a space positioned therebetween, the alignment arms of the top carrier nest with the alignment arms of the bottom carrier. The handle portion and top carrier both have cam surfaces that engage one another such that when the handle portion is rotated around the axis of the threaded shaft the handle portion is raised or lowered thereby raising or lowering the bottom carrier, thereby locking or unlocking the fence assembly in a quick, durable, easy and accurate manner.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2014Date of Patent: January 22, 2019Assignee: KREG ENTERPRISES, INC.Inventor: Scott L. Patent number: 9969042Abstract: A quick adjust ratcheting pocket hole jig is presented. The pocket hole jig has a base with a removable upright connected thereto. A guide assembly is slidably received within the upright. Removable and replaceable side supports are connected to the base by way of a dove tail joint. Removable and replaceable adjustable stops are connected to the base by way of key holes. A clamp assembly is connected to the base having a handle portion and a clamp follower. The clamp follower has a ratcheting mechanism and a compressible plunger assembly. The clamp follower can quickly be adjusted using a button on the clamp follower that disengages the ratcheting member such that it can be quickly adjusted. When the handle is operated, it draws the clamp follower towards the upright and guide assembly compressing the spring loaded plunger assembly thereby quickly and tightly and adjustably holding a workpiece therebetween.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2014Date of Patent: May 15, 2018Assignee: KREG ENTERPRISES, INC.Inventor: Scott L. Patent number: 9789626Abstract: In one example, a machinery fence support system comprises a worktable having a recess therein and a cutting element protruding upwardly from the worktable. The system has a track which is slidably received within the recess of the worktable. A bracket connected to the track; and a sacrificial fence is adjustably connected to the bracket. A track system is connected to the sacrificial fence and a stop assembly connected to the track system. The track slides within the recess of the worktable such that the sacrificial fence passes over the cutting element such that a beaded face frame feature is cut into a workpiece.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2014Date of Patent: October 17, 2017Assignee: Kreg Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Scott L. Patent number: 9682430Abstract: A pocket hole drilling machine is presented. The pocket hole drilling machine has a cabinet made of a molded unitary monolithic piece. A monolithic top plate is connected to the cabinet with an opening in the middle for an insert plate which is positioned therein. A handle extends above the top plated as does a clamping assembly however actuating mechanics of the device move within the cabinet, thereby improving safety by eliminating pinchpoints. An adjustable fence assembly having cam locks connected thereto is also connected to the top plate. This arrangement provides a low cost, safe and efficient pocket hole drilling machine.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2014Date of Patent: June 20, 2017Assignee: Kreg Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Scott L.
