    Abstract: An electromagnetic assembly, for example for a relay, has a magnetic core surrounded by an electrical coil, and an armature closing the magnetic circuit of the electromagnetic assembly. The magnetic core is of the split pole type having a first pole and a second pole, the former being surrounded by a shading ring to produce a phase shift in the magnetic flux in the region of the poles when the electrical coil is energized. A step is provided in the first pole between the shading ring and the armature so that the flux density, and thus the magnetic force, between the first pole and the armature is increased.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulically actuated bar-like clamping tool with an elongated base body (1), a reciprocating elongated clamping body (2) and a tubular inflatable body (18) arranged between both said bodies for moving the clamping body. The inflatable body is secured in a fluid-tight manner at one end and is connected to a fluid connection at its other end. The base body (1) and the clamping body (2) consist each of a U-shaped section with meshing legs (9;10). A reciprocating, elongated thrust piece (15) supported on the ends of the legs of the clamping body (2) and a fixed, elongated abutment (13) are arranged between the legs (9) of the base body (1). The tubular inflatable body (18) extends on the one hand between the base body (1) and the pressure member (15) and after it is deflected it extends on the other hand between the abutment (13) and the clamping body (2). The U-shaped base body (1) has a close-off arrangement (3) at least at its end provided with the fluid connection (3a).

The valve body has associated therewith a force-balancing compensation area, which can be acted upon by pressure fluid by way of a subsidiary channel. The sealing structure comprises an elastic, axially effective sealing ring which sealingly engages the valve housing and the axially movable valve component, such that a radial portion of the ring rests axially and sealingly against at least one abutment shoulder on the axially movable valve component.

To accomplish that such devices may manage with a substantially reduced electrical battery power for their electromagnetic closing device, a permanent magnet is provided which co-operates with a ferromagnetic member of the closing device, in such manner that the closing device continues to be held in its closing position while the control piston is being reversed, although the supply of electrical power to the closing device had already been turned off.

A rod is fed towards and into the range of operation of the tool. The actual distance advanced by the rod during a work cycle of the tool is determined. It is also determined whether the actual distance of advancement falls within the range defined between the preselected minimum and maximum distances. When the actual distance falls outside such range, operation of the rod-feeding unit is terminated.

    Abstract: A screw machine has a displaceable headstock and is provided with a pusher rod having at its front end a chuck that engages the rear end of a bar that passes axially through the headstock. This pusher rod is connected to a chain drive at least one of whose sprockets is connectable through a clutch to a gear meshing with a rack carried on the headstock. When this clutch is closed the headstock and pusher rod are positively locked together for joint displacement. During feed operations the two are disconnected so that the pusher rod can displace a new length of bar through the headstock, and the pusher rod may be arrested during backward displacement of the headstock in order to allow the chuck thereof to get new purchase on the bar.

    Abstract: A screw machine has a headstock provided with an openable and closable chuck rotatable at high speed and having a throughgoing aperture of cross-sectional shape complementary to that of a bar to be machined in the screw machine. A feed apparatus for this machine comprises means for detecting the rotational speed of the chuck and for generating a speed output when the rotational speed lies within a predetermined range. In addition, a pusher is provided which only advances the bar into the aperture of the chuck after generation of the output. This pusher is engageable with an abutment that is only displaced out of its way when the speed output is generated. Furthermore the apparatus generates a position output when the bar is properly in place and has a timer which withdraws the bar from the chuck if within a predetermined time limit after generation of the speed output the position output is not generated, indicating that the apparatus is unable to load the bar.

A support structure extends longitudinally of the guide member and surrounds the same with spacing, and a plurality of elongated elastically yieldable members extends longitudinally of the guide member in the spacing and supports the guide member in the support structure. The oscillations to which the guide member is subjected during the operation of the arrangement are damped by the elastically yieldable members so that they are not transmitted to the support structure. The elastically yieldable members may be hollow tubes into which a pressurized medium is introduced, and the pressure of the medium may be adjusted so as to correspond to the various working conditions.
