Patents Assigned to Kunreuther and Beringhause
  • Patent number: 4601417
Abstract: The tag includes first and second side portions and an intermediate portion. The side portions are articulately joined to parallel opposite edges of the intermediate portion and are adapted to be aligned in spaced, substantially parallel relation so as to sandwich a folded pair of hosiery therebetween. The top edges of the side portions are inclined with respect to the bottom edges such that the intermediate portion is situated in a plane inclined with respect to the plane containing the bottom edges so as to accommodate the inclined folded portion of the hosiery pair and hang vertically from a hook affixed to the intermediate portion.

  • Patent number: 4589583
Abstract: A conventional fastener attacher is fixedly mounted on a support. A stack of hooks is situated in a retainer which is movably mounted with respect to the support. A dispensing slide is movably mounted on the retainer, below the stack. As the retainer is moved towards the attacher, the slide automatically moves relative to the retainer to align a hook with the attacher. Slide movement is achieved through the use of a cam surface on the support and a cam follower extending from the slide. A single air cylinder moves both the retainer and the slide. The retainer can hold the stack in one of two orientations. In order to avoid jamming, the hook is held on the slide as it retracts or is realigned with the stack, if the hook has not been removed from the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4237779
Abstract: The apparatus is designed for automatic attachment of a header, a tag or the like to a softgoods article by means of a plastic fastener. A commercial fastener attacher of the non-automatic, hand-held variety is fixedly mounted on a support and has a stationary hollow needle through which the fastener is dispensed. Above the attacher is located a platform, movably mounted on the support, having an opening therein aligned with the axis of the needle. Spaced from the platform is a clamping member having a recess therein aligned with the axis of the needle. The operator inserts the header or tag and the article between the member and the platform and actuated the apparatus. The member moves towards the platform to clamp the header or tag and article in face-to-face relationship therebetween. Further movement of the member causes the clamped header or tag and article assembly to move relative to the attacher to position same on the needle.

  • Patent number: 4235161
Abstract: A conventional fastener attacher is vertically mounted to a support in a fixed position relative thereto in a manner which permits pneumatic actuation thereof. A carriage, which is movable along an upstanding guide mounted on the support, has mounted thereon a pneumatically actuated tag feed mechanism. When actuated, the mechanism feeds a tag from a position out of alignment with the axis of the needle of the attacher to a position in alignment with the axis of the needle. Thereafter, the carriage is moved toward the attacher, in a direction substantially parallel to the axis of the needle, to place the fed tag on the needle. In one embodiment, a second carriage, movable along a second upstanding guide, carries a hook feed mechanism which, when actuated, feeds a hook to a position spaced from, but in alignment with the needle. The article to which the tag and hook are to be attached is held between the needle and the hook.
