Abstract: A plate-like structural element substantially comprises a wooden material plate with a high water resistance and having a plastic coating on at least part of its top and/or bottom side. This element is constructed in the manner of a wall or floor tile. For fixing or joining several elements on the edge surfaces are provided grooves and tongues. Preferably the width of the tongues exceeds the depth of the grooves, so that a specific, uniform joint width is ensured between the elements.
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for machining panels, in particular panels made of derived timber products, in and essentially horizontal position. The device has a sawing and/or milling jig with at least one saw blade and/or at least on milling cutter. The device is preferably fitted with a combined sawing/milling jig whose movements are controlled by computer using several parameters. The device can also have a preferably computer-controlled panel-holding rig, a suction device for removing machining residues, such as chips and dust, means for conveying the panel and/or cutouts out of the device following machining or means for lifting the machined panel.

Abstract: In a process of lowering building structures, such as shutdown nuclear power plants or building structures which are to be erected as they are lowered, a caisson is constructed below the bed plate of the building structure. The caisson has a reinforced top plate for supporting the building structure by means of supporting elements and a reinforced concrete ring which depends from the rim of the top plate to constitute a cutting edge. A transfer duct, which is lowered with the top plate, is provided adjacent the rim of the top plate. Superatmospheric pressure is maintained by means of air locks in a working chamber which is defined under the top plate and enclosed by the ring.
Abstract: In a method of sealing structural bodies or cavity-defining walls which may be subject to cracking, a sealing material is applied to the outside surface of the bodies or walls, the body or the cavity-defining walls are surrounded or enclosed by enclosing walls which are spaced from the body or the cavity-defining walls and a flowable sealing fluid having a high viscosity is introduced into the space thus formed.
Abstract: The process herein disclosed to lower into the ground building structures, such as shutdown nuclear power plants or building structures to be erected as they are lowered. A caisson for supporting the building structure is provided below the bed plate of the building structure, and is lowered in steps together with the building structure. To permit a controlled lowering of the building structure by a predeterminable distance, the caisson is provided with a reinforced concrete top plate and with a reinforced concrete outer ring which depends from the rim of the top plate and constitutes an outer cutting edge. An inner reinforced concrete ring, which constitutes an inner cutting edge is arranged approximately on the same level as the outer ring. Hydraulic presses are placed between the top surface of the inner ring and the bottom surface of the top plate and are used to support the top plate on the inner ring.
