Patents Assigned to Kunz Maschinen-und Apparatebau GmbH
  • Patent number: 4758113
Abstract: A coupling between a motor-driven shaft and a mandrel for winding or unwinding reels has a recess provided in the end portion of the shaft and serving to receive the end portion of the mandrel. The end portion of the shaft has a wheel which is pivotable between an inoperative position to permit insertion of the end portion of the mandrel into the recess and an operative position in which the end portion of the mandrel is confined in the recess. The end portion of the mandrel has a non-circular peripheral surface which is surrounded by the complementary surface of the end portion of the shaft when the end portion of the mandrel is properly inserted into the recess and the wheel is held in the operative position.

  • Patent number: 4551117
Abstract: A torque transmitting connection between a driving shaft and the core of a reel has a barrel-shaped stub which is rigid and coaxial with the core and extends into a complementary socket of a female coupling element at the respective end of the shaft. The female coupling element has a lateral opening which communicates with the socket, and the stub has a lateral flat so that the thickness of the stub, as measured in a plane including the axis of the stub and extending at right angles to the plane of the flat, is approximately four-fifths of the diameter of the stub. The width of the opening slightly exceeds the width of the flat and the aforesaid thickness of the stub. This renders it possible to insert the stub into or to withdraw the stub from the socket by placing the flat into a plane which is normal to the plane of the opening and by thereupon causing the stub to pass through the opening.

  • Patent number: 4460134
Abstract: An apparatus which can adjust the position of one end portion of a reeling shaft which carries a reel for a web of paper, textile material or the like has a plate-like carrier for a bearing which rotatably mounts one end portion of the shaft, a support for the carrier, and a first slide which is secured to the underside of the carrier and extends into a central chamber of a second slide is movable in a chamber in the support. The first slide can move the second slide in response to rotation of an adjusting shaft which is mounted in the support and extends at right angles to the axis of the reeling shaft. The first slide can move with reference to the second slide in response to rotation of a sleeve having external threads mating with the internal threads of a nut which is affixed to the support.

  • Patent number: 4406029
Abstract: A deburring machine for plate- or sheet-like workpieces has a horizontal table on which a workpiece to be treated is supported during movement in parallelism with at least one of its elongated marginal portions. At least one set of coaxial cylindrical brushes is adjacent to the one marginal portion of the moving workpiece and the brushes form at least one pair of neighboring brushes which are driven to rotate in opposite directions whereby the metallic bristles of one brush treat the underside and the metallic bristles of the other brush treat the upper side of the one marginal portion. The frame of the machine can support two sets of coaxial brushes if the workpieces have parallel marginal portions. Such workpieces are advanced between the two sets of brushes so that one set treats one of the parallel marginal portions and the other set treats the other marginal portion.

  • Patent number: 4318199
Abstract: For burring and cleaning operations of substantially plane work pieces such as metal sheets having arbitrarily formed contours, openings and/or apertures and recesses, a machine is being disclosed which is provided at least with one pair of upper and lower driven rotary brushes along the conveying path of the work pieces. The rotary brushes are equipped with twisted or tressed bristles and are arranged with their horizontal axis of rotation at a corresponding inclination with respect to the conveying direction of the work pieces whereby the bristles of the two rotary brushes are meshing in the manner of interengaging gears. The work pieces are thusly burred and cleaned with a single passage through such rotary brushes.
