  • Patent number: 6532620
Abstract: An upright-type vacuum cleaner includes a cleaner body, a suction brush, cyclone dust collecting apparatus, and a filter. The cyclone dust collecting apparatus is removably disposed in a dust collecting chamber in the cleaner body. The suction brush draws air and contaminants from a surface to be cleaned into the cleaner body. The cyclone dust collecting apparatus induces the air and contaminants into a vortex to separate by centrifugal force large particle contaminants from the air and to collect the contaminants. The filter further filters fine contaminants from the air that is discharged from the cyclone dust collecting apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6508635
Abstract: A reciprocating compressor includes a piston reciprocating within a cylinder to compress a fluid. The compressed fluid is discharged through a discharge pipe which is susceptible to being vibrated, e.g., by the operation of a motor of the compressor. To attenuate such vibrations, an anti-vibration coil spring is mounted to the discharge pipe, with the discharge pipe passing through helical turns of the spring. The helical turns define respective outer diameters which are non-uniform along the length of the spring.

  • Patent number: 6450297
Abstract: There is provided a hermetic compressor in which an oil hole is directly formed in an inner wall of a piston hole on which a lateral component force is exerted, thereby intensively performing a lubricating action at the portion which is susceptible to the friction and wear. Further, since the oil hole is formed to penetrate through the side wall of the piston hole, a foreign matter contained in the oil is prevented from being introduced into the piston hole. Further, the friction and wear between the piston and the cylinder block is basically prevented, thereby preventing the lowering of the performance and the deformation of the compressing instrument by the increasing of the interior temperature of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 6435841
Abstract: A hermetic reciprocating compressor has a rigidity increasing portion for increasing the rigidity of a sealed casing of the compressor to control transmission noise that is transmitted through the sealed casing and to reduce the noise of the compressor. The rigidity increasing portion includes an elastic member which exerts elasticity between a compression device portion and a lower shell of the compressor. The elastic member increases the rigidity of the lower shell of the compressor to produce noise controlling effects similar to that which results from an increase in the thickness of the shell of the compressor itself Accordingly, noise and vibration levels are improved by the sealed casing, and the noise of the compressor can be reduced. The elastic member includes a body having an annular hole in contact with the center of the bottom of the lower shell and a plurality of supporting legs extending from the body.

  • Patent number: 6422833
Abstract: A hermetic reciprocating compressor includes a crankshaft stopper with an integrally formed resonance reducer portion. The crankshaft stopper is attached to the upper inner portion of a sealed casing of a compressor to restrict the movement of a motor portion and a compression device portion. The resonance reducer portion of the crankshaft stopper increases the rigidity of the sealed casing by reducing the resonance of the sealed casing. Since the vibration produced and transmitted to the sealed casing during the operation of the compressor is absorbed or damped by the crankshaft stopper with the resonance reducer portion, the resonance of the sealed casing is reduced and/or eliminated. Accordingly, overall noise caused by resonance of the sealed casing can be reduced.
