Abstract: A support shaft connects between a flange and a pump unit. An intermediate member, which connects between the support shaft and pump unit, enables a relative positional change between the support shaft and the pump unit in an axial direction of the support shaft. The intermediate member limits a relative positional change between the support shaft and the pump unit in a circumferential direction of the support shaft. A resilient member is received in the support shaft and exerts a restoring force in an axial direction of the support shaft to urge the pump unit, which is movable relative to the support shaft in the axial direction, toward a bottom portion of the fuel tank.

  • Patent number: 8453622
Abstract: A fuel supply system includes a plurality of fuel pumps, and one suction filter. The suction filter includes connection portions that are connected to pump inlets of the fuel pumps, and an interval adjusting member that adjusts the interval between the connection portions in accordance with the interval between the fuel pumps. Thus, it is possible to fit the suction filter to the fuel pumps without changing the interval between the fuel pumps. Because the interval between pump outlets is not changed, it is possible to minimize the problems that are likely to occur when the suction filter is fitted to the fuel pumps.

  • Publication number: 20130075394
Abstract: A casing includes a container in which a float valve is disposed. When the float valve is closed, the casing keeps the float valve in a closed state for a relatively long period of time. A sub-float valve is provided below the container in the casing, and is closed by floating on fuel at the time of a turn of a vehicle or an automatic stop of first refueling. When the first refueling is completed, air in the sub-float valve is discharged, and the sub-float valve loses its floating function.

  • Publication number: 20120240901
Abstract: A pump unit having a fuel pump and a suction filter is provided in a sub tank of a fuel tank. A filter element sheet for the suction filter is formed in a cup shape, a bottom wall portion of which faces to an inner bottom surface of the sub tank. A suction port of the fuel pump is opened to a fuel passage formed in the inside of the suction filter, so that filtered fuel is sucked into the fuel pump. Multiple mountain fold portions and multiple valley fold portions are formed on a side wall of the cup-shaped filter element sheet, to thereby increase surface area for filtering the fuel.

  • Publication number: 20110186149
Abstract: A casing has a vessel portion, in which a float valve unit is arranged. A fuel drain through-hole having a small diameter is formed at a closed end bottom of the vessel portion. A cross sectional area of the fuel drain through-hole is extremely smaller than an opening area of an inlet port, so that fuel discharging speed of the liquid fuel from the vessel portion through the fuel drain through-hole is suppressed to a small value. As a result, a fuel holding time of the liquid fuel in the vessel portion, which has entered into the vessel portion from the inlet port, is made longer.
