Abstract: A mechanism for a seating unit is provided that allows a reclining mechanism to freely rock on a rocker assembly when a locking actuator is in a first position, and that provides an auto-rocking motion, via a rocking actuator, when the locking actuator is in a second position.

Abstract: An adjustable bed base has a subframe which may be raised and lowered relative to a stationary frame by primary linear actuators. A deck is attached to the subframe. The deck may be flat or fully articulated depending upon the position of secondary linear actuators which are a part of a subframe module. The subframe module may be secured to the stationary frame of the adjustable bed base. The deck may be inclined by extending one of the primary linear actuators more than the other regardless of the positions of the deck members.

Abstract: An all-linkage mechanism for a seating unit is provided that allows the ottoman to be extended between a closed position and an extended position, with the top face of the ottoman facing upwardly during the entire motion. The mechanism is motorized, and may be stopped in a position intermediate the closed and extended positions, such as a laptop position. The mechanism is compact, allowing use on a high-leg, wood-to-the-floor seating unit.

Abstract: A bedding foundation has a linear actuator for moving a roller carriage forward and backwards. The roller carriage includes wheels which move along rails supported below a rigid platform having an opening extending through the platform. The roller carriage includes a lifter which raises and lowers a roller independently of the movement of the linear actuator. Regardless of the position of the linear actuator, the roller may be raised or lowered. The roller moves back and forth inside the opening extending through the rigid platform and imparts a massage movement to a mattress above the foundation.

An articulating deck is attached to the subframe. Secondary linear actuators articulate the deck. The subframe assembly is pivotally secured to a portion of the stationary frame. The subframe may be inclined by extending the primary linear actuator which moves ramps, causing wheels attached to the subframe to ride upwardly along the ramps, thereby raising the head end of the subframe relative to the stationary frame.

In some aspects, the seat pitch is changed through a linkage as the ottoman extends, and as the back reclines. In other aspects, the seat pitch is changed using a separate motor. The seating unit can be moved to a lifted position, a TV position, a fully-reclined position, or a zero-gravity position with the ottoman partially extended, the seat pitch partially changed and the back partially reclined.

To change the length of the leg assembly, a hollow leg is moved inside a hollow receiver and fixed in place by a first push pin assembly. A second push pin assembly inside the hollow receiver fixes the leg assembly in a lowered position and a raised position for storage or shipment. Each hollow receiver is pivotally secured to a mounting bracket welded to a foldable frame of the adjustable bed base.

Abstract: A control mechanism for a chair comprises a baseplate configured to be coupled to a chair base assembly, a support plate configured to be coupled to a chair seat, and an elastic element arranged between the base plate and the support plate. The elastic element enables the support plate to be tilted with respect to the base plate around a first tilt axis and a second tilt axis different from the first tilt axis. The control mechanism further comprises a control handle configured to be actuated in an actuating direction, and at least one stop element. Each stop element is arranged between the base plate and the support plate and configured to limit a minimum distance between the base plate and the support plate at the position of the corresponding stop element. A stop element adjust mechanism is coupled to the control handle and configured to adjust the minimum distance of each stop element in response to actuating the control handle in the actuating direction.

Abstract: A comfort layer for a bedding or seating product has liquid pods sandwiched between plies of fabric. The plies of fabric are joined with seams thereby creating pockets, at least one liquid pod being inside each pocket. Each seam joining opposed plies of fabric around each of the liquid pods of the comfort layer may be segmented or solid, depending upon the fabric and type of seam.

Abstract: A flexible cellular foam or composition contains a flexible foam structure that comprises a plurality of highly thermally conductive solids including nanomaterials. The thermally conductive solids may be carbon nanomaterials or other metallic or non-metallic solids. The carbon nanomaterials may include, but are not necessarily limited to, carbon nanotubes and graphite nanoplatelets. The highly thermally conductive solids may include but are not limited to micro-sized solids that may include graphite flakes, for example. When mixed within flexible foam, the presence of nanomaterials may impart greater support factor, greater thermal conductivity, and/or a combination of these improvements. The flexible foam composition may be polyurethane foam, latex foam, polyether polyurethane foam, viscoelastic foam, high resilient foam, polyester polyurethane foam, foamed polyethylene, foamed polypropylene, expanded polystyrene, foamed silicone, melamine foam, among others.

Abstract: A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of individually pocketed springs. A dimensionally stabilizing substrate is secured to at least some of the strings on one of the top and bottom surfaces of the strings. A scrim sheet is secured to at least some of the strings on an opposed surface of the strings to maintain the positions of the strings. The dimensionally stabilizing substrate is laterally rigid enough to maintain length and width dimensions of the coil spring assembly. However, the dimensionally stabilizing substrate is flexible enough to allow the pocketed spring assembly to be roll packed for shipping.

Abstract: A three-layered topper for a bedding or seating product has a first piece of foam, a second piece of foam and a pocketed spring comfort layer therebetween. The pocketed spring comfort layer has individually pocketed mini coil springs. At least one of the foam pieces may be infused with metallic particles to improve thermal conductivity. Alternatively, at least one of the foam pieces may be infused with microencapsulated phase change materials to improve heat absorption. At least one of the foam pieces may have a coating to further improve thermal conductivity or heat absorption.

A front linkage assembly and a rear linkage assembly provide the desired movement of the seat and back when moving from the TV position to the fully reclined position, obviating the need for a track and roller design. Moreover, a front pivot link and a rear pivot link are provided and oriented in a manner that allows the desired forward seat movement as the recliner moves from the closed position to the TV position. The geometries of the front linkage assembly, the rear linkage assembly, the front pivot link and the rear pivot link allow a slim profile design allowing great flexibility in the design of the recliner.

The stationary frame is supported by multiple leg assemblies of different heights. Due to wedges sandwiched between the leg assemblies and mounting brackets of the stationary frame, the leg assemblies remain flat on the ground providing a stable support for the bedding product. Each leg assembly is secured to one of the mounting brackets.

Abstract: A linkage for use in reclining furniture may include a back bracket supported by forward and rear back pivot links. The bottom of the rear back pivot link may be pivotably coupled to a rear lift link and the bottom of the forward back pivot link may be pivotably coupled to the rear lift link in a different location. A control link may be pivotably coupled on one end to one of the forward back pivot link and the rear back pivot link. The control link may pull the pivoting linkage of the back bracket and the forward and back pivot links as the overall linkage is moved from a closed to a TV to a full-recline position. The resulting pivot point for the back is projected upwardly and forwardly, to a point where an upholstered back and seat meet on a finished chair.

A rocker assembly is coupled between the full-recline linkage mechanism and the stationary arms that allows the seat, back and ottoman to rock between the stationary arms in any of the closed position, the TV position or the fully reclined position.
