Abstract: Methods and apparatuses include operating a semiconductor component using a DC/DC-converter. The DC/DC-converter has its duty cycle controlled. A voltage at the semiconductor component is sensed for a voltage. The duty cycle is controlled or regulated so that the sensed voltage corresponds to a predetermined voltage. The predetermined voltage may be gradually increased until a difference between the sensed voltage and the predetermined voltage reaches a predetermined limit.
Abstract: A system is disclosed that may include an access point and a first wireless basic service set providing data transfer and a second wireless basic service set providing data transfer. The first and second wireless basic service sets are serviced by the access point concurrently and independent from the respective other wireless basic service set, wherein the access point may include a first MAC entity to process first data and a second MAC entity to process second data and wherein the first basic service set is configured to support a mix of contemporary wireless standards and legacy wireless standards and the second basic service set is configured to support only contemporary wireless standards and to operate at a greater data throughput than the first basic service set.
Abstract: A self-oscillating driver circuit includes a driver stage, a feedforward path which is coupled to an input of the driver stage, and a feedback path which couples an output of the driver stage to an input of the feedforward path. The feedforward path includes a feedforward filter which is designed as an active filter. In order to prevent an oscillatory state of the driver circuit at an unwanted frequency, it is proposed that an internal state variable of the feedforward filter be monitored and that the feedforward filter be reset if the value of the monitored internal state variable is outside a predefined range.

Abstract: One embodiment relates to a method of communicating data between a transmitter and a receiver of a communication system. In this method, a payload data stream is received from a network interface layer. The payload data stream includes data units eligible for retransmission and data units non-eligible for retransmission. These data units are grouped into containers, where a container is associated with a container identifier that distinguishes the container from other containers. The containers are grouped into data transmission units, where a data transmission unit includes at least one container along with redundancy information that facilitates error detection for that data transmission unit. The data transmission units are transmitted to the receiver as a transmission data stream. Other methods and systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: Embodiments related to retransmission in a communication system are described and depicted. In one embodiment, a retransmission entity repeats a transmission of a data transfer unit by the device after a predetermined number of other transmitted data transfer units has been transmitted. The retransmission entity may also determine whether a measure for a time period since the first transmission of the data transfer unit by the device has exceeded a predetermined threshold and to provide a final transmission of the data transfer unit based on the determining that the measure for the time period has exceeded the predetermined threshold.

Switching antennas reduces the total number of antennas and support hardware, such as digital processing hardware, for wireless communications standards having a high ratio of idle to busy time.
