  • Patent number: 5520412
Abstract: A relatively flexible thermoplastic air bag cover is provided including a front panel wherein a curved border area about a switch location area of the front panel gradually and continuously decreases in thickness. This feature enhances actuation of a membrane-type switch which lies behind a rear inner surface of the front panel in the switch location area. This feature allows the switch to be activated in a switch activation area which includes all of the switch location area and a portion of the border area. This feature also allows the front panel to be properly molded so that the front panel has a class-A surface on its front outer surface.

  • Patent number: 5497709
Abstract: A load-bearing pallet assembly comprises a resilient polymeric core including top and bottom halves which have means for interconnecting and easily disconnecting the halves but only when desired. The top half includes a top support panel having top corners, a flange portion which extends about the periphery of the top support panel and projects downwardly therefrom and a set of four tabs projecting downwardly from the top support panel at each of the top corners. The bottom half includes a base having bottom corners, a shoulder portion which extends about the periphery of the base and projects upwardly therefrom, and a boss shaped like a truncated pyramid which projects upwardly from the base at each of the bottom corners. Each of the bosses has a square slot for receiving four tabs of the top half to interconnect the top and bottom halves. The bottom half also includes head portions which project upwardly from the shoulder portion at each of the bottom corners and at midpoints therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5486658
Abstract: A stylus device includes a lower body portion, an upper body portion, a pair of spaced shoulders, a head supported on the upper body portion between the shoulders and an outwardly extending end surface having a central portion defined by a curve wherein the central portion is rounded for controllably removing a layer of paint from a rotating painted substrate when in engagement therewith. The rounded central portion provides a relatively large amount of pressure per unit area, reduces any danger of gouging the painted substrate, and ensures a smooth, even ride on the painted substrate. The lower body portion is adapted to be removably secured to an attachment part of a scuffing head assembly. The spaced shoulders are formed at a distal end of the upper body portion and each of the spaced shoulders includes an inwardly extending edge.
