Abstract: A lock includes a base and movable element connected to a handle operable by a user and movable between a first position corresponding to an open condition of the handle and a second position corresponding to a closed condition. An operating element is rotatably mounted on the base and connected to a device for releasing a closing panel, and is rotatable between a first position corresponding to an open condition of the panel and a second position corresponding to a closed condition. A transmission acts between the movable an operating elements and kinematically connects the movable and operating elements such that movement of the movable element causes rotation of the operating element. An uncoupling device acts on the transmission for disengaging kinematically, and in a controlled way, the movable element from the operating element to disable actuation of the operating element by the movable element.

The elongate component and the rotary component are arranged within the elongate cavity of the structural member and are configured to mesh such that a rotary motion of the rotary component results in a linear motion of the elongate component together with the structural member relative to the rotary component. Advantageously, the drive unit may further include a guide member and a guide rail, where the guide rail is integrated into the elongate cavity of the structural member and where the guide member and the guide rail are configured to cooperate to support the linear motion of the structural member.

Abstract: A drive mechanism for a slide-out room includes top and bottom gear racks secured on sidewalls of the room. A motor is fixed relative to the slide-out room adjacent the sidewall. A drive shaft is coupled with the motor and engages both of a first drive gear and a second drive gear, respectively engaged with the top and bottom gear racks. The gear racks are covered by a suitable cover, and the drive gears extend through the covers into engagement with the racks.
