Abstract: A removable accessory for a fencing mask provided with a mesh having an array of apertures is provided. The accessory can include a main body having a first surface, and a plurality of projections extending from the first surface of the main body. Each projection is configured to be removably insertable into an aperture of the mesh. Therefore, the accessory may be removably attached to the fencing mask, without damaging the fencing mask.
Abstract: A fencing weapon point assembly (1, 6) for a fencing weapon such as an epee, foil or sabre is provided. At least one of the components of the weapon point assembly is made from a metal or metal alloy having different density to steel. Weapon point assemblies having lighter weight components provide for greater control and thus precision of the weapon during combat. Whereas weapon point assemblies having heavy components provide the blade with a greater ‘whip’ of the weapon point assembly.
Abstract: A fencing blade is described comprising a substantially planar elongate strip having at least a portion thereof shaped to be non-planar in cross-section. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a foil or sabre type blade is made from a planar, tapering, elongate steel billet pressed into a `U` or `V` shape along substantially two thirds of its length, the remaining one third of the blade being left flat. The blade may be formed of separate tang/shoulder and blade sections, which may be releaseably or permanently connected together.
