Patents Assigned to LifeSize Communications, Inc.
  • Patent number: 7572073
Abstract: In some embodiments, a camera support mechanism may be used as a mount to couple a camera to a display. The camera support mechanism may include a front lip and rear leg to hold the camera in place. The front lip may align with a front edge of a display. In some embodiments, the rear leg may be adjustable by an adjustment knob. The rear leg may further have a compliant tip to allow the camera support mechanism to adapt to different sizes and shapes of displays. The camera may be mounted on the camera support mechanism through a fastener.

  • Patent number: 7545435
Abstract: In some embodiments, images for the video conference may be white balanced and/or exposure controlled. White balancing may include dividing an image's pixels into multiple ranges according to their luminance and chrominance values. In some embodiments, blue and red analog gains may be modified to bring red and blue accumulations closer to green accumulations. In some embodiments, luminance values for an image may be adjusted by increasing or decreasing exposure. The decision whether to increase or decrease the exposure may be made by looking at statistics for luminance values of skin colored regions if there are sufficient skin colored regions on the image. Otherwise, luminance values for the entire image may be analyzed to determine whether to increase or decrease exposure.

  • Patent number: 7525584
Abstract: An edge directed demosaicing algorithm for determining an edge direction from an input color filter array (CFA) sampled image is disclosed. Aspects of the present invention include calculating for a current missing green pixel, interpolation errors in an East-West (EW) direction at known neighboring green pixels, and averaging the EW interpolation errors to obtain an EW error. Interpolation errors are also calculated for the current missing green pixel in a North-South (NS) direction at known neighboring green pixels, and the NS interpolation errors are averaged to obtain a NS error. An EW or NS direction indicated by a minimum of the EW error and the NS error is then selected as the edge direction.

  • Patent number: 7473040
Abstract: In various embodiments, a High Definition (HD) camera may be controlled by one or more motors in a base of the HD camera. Cables and other components may be used to manipulate the camera lens through the side arms of the HD camera. Putting the motors in the base may reduce the size of the outer case of the HD camera and add stability. In some embodiments, images from the HD camera may be converted into a serialized stream and transported over a cable from the lens through a center shaft of the HD camera. Other components may also be used to increase the functionality of the HD camera. In some embodiments, a camera support mechanism may be provided to couple a camera to a display. The camera support mechanism may include a front lip and rear leg to hold camera in place.
