Publication number: 20070072585Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus for credit based management of a telecommunication system. One embodiment of the apparatus includes an interface for communicating credit information on a particular subscriber and for receiving call records for the particular subscriber that are derived from a switch which establishes connections between telecommunication devices. A credit limit device then utilizes the credit information to establish a credit limit for the subscriber. The apparatus also includes a device for comparing the particular subscriber's call usage to a credit limit established for the subscriber based on information obtained from the credit bureau. An output device is used to provide an indication that the subscriber has exceeded their credit limit. Another embodiment of the apparatus, includes a device for, upon expiration of a predetermined time period, contacting the credit bureau to obtain a new credit score for a subscriber and use this score to update the subscriber's credit limit.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 15, 2006Publication date: March 29, 2007Applicant: Lightbridge, Inc.Inventors: Eric Johnson, Mark Handzel

Publication number: 20060088152Abstract: In response to a request for a conference call among specified invitees, a conference-call system provides web pages that elicit from respective invitees the telephone numbers at which they can be reached, and it causes messages that contain those web pages' URIs to be sent to those invitees. If a presence network indicates that an invitee's messages will be received on a telephone, the conference system instead sends to that phone a message specifying a telephone number to call and a PIN to be used for that purpose.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 21, 2004Publication date: April 27, 2006Applicant: Lightbridge, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Green, Tod Irwin, Donald Pilcher, John Rose, Herbert Spenner, Kevin Thornton, Roger Wiens

Publication number: 20030153299Abstract: According to the principles of the invention, a fraud detection system receives data relating to telecommunications activity. Event generators generate events from the received data, with each event having a weight corresponding to an increased or decreased likelihood of fraud. The aggregated events for a subject (a subscriber or an account) determine a score for the subject, which is used to prioritize the subject in an investigation queue. Human analysts are assigned to open investigations on the investigation queue according to the priority of subjects. In this manner, investigation resources can be applied more effectively to high-risk subscribers and events.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 31, 2002Publication date: August 14, 2003Applicant: Lightbridge, Inc.Inventors: Michael Adam Perfit, Darin L.
