Abstract: A method and a device for treating the upper surfaces of rails, where the upper surfaces of rails (3) are acted upon by movable grinding blocks (7) disposed on a bogie which can be moved along on the tracks and where a plurality of grinding blocks (7) is used. The grinding blocks (7) are periodically lifted and lowered again singly or in groups, cleaning of the work face of the grinding block (7) being performed during the lifting of the respective grinding block (7). In case of curves in the rails, a change of the position of the grinding block (7) in relation to a hydraulic unit (11), which vertically moves the grinding block (7), is detected by proximity switches (12), and the position of the hydraulic unit (11) can then be adjusted via a transverse guide (10).
Abstract: Extended stators for pumps or motors with eccentric shafts are made by machining. These stators are provided in the direction of their long axis with a dual- or multi-thread inner bore profile having periodically repeated profile pitches of predetermined lead as interior stator work faces. The course of the following method steps are utilized: (a) partial segments of the inner bore profile are produced by means of machining on rod-like work pieces as exterior working surfaces; (b) the work pieces are then separated in the direction of their long axes into a predetermined number of partial work pieces in such a way that each partial work piece has a partial segment of the inner bore profile, and (c) these partial work pieces are subsequently assembled together in such a way that the partial segments are combined into a complete inner bore profile.
Abstract: A milling device for working, and particularly for trimming the edges, of sheet metal strips, sheet metal plates, and the like. The workpiece is movable in any desired shape or direction in relation to the working position between guide rollers. The milling device has a cutter head which can be turned by a motor. The rotational axis of the cutter head is located approximately parallel to the plane of the workpiece and approximately vertical to the direction of advancement of the device. The device is provided with at least one cutter element provided with a cutting edge inclined at an angle to the normal plane of the cutter head.
Abstract: An edge miller for machining the edges of sheets advanced in motion relative thereto includes a milling unit supported for rotation therein and in turn supporting circular cutters for rotation relative thereto. The milling unit has bearings for each of the circular cutters supporting such rotation thereof, the bearings disposing the longitudinal cutter axes such that the axial and radial positions thereof are alternatively above and below the thickness centerline of the sheet and that each circular cutter has a cutting edge range between first and second cutting edge points. Machining forces between such cutting edge and the workpiece druing engagement produce a torque for rotating said circular cutter.
