Abstract: Disclosed is a protective garment that includes a lower portion having a pair of extremities each having a knee joint area connected to an upper leg portion by an upper radial seam and connected to a lower leg portion by a lower radial seam. The knee joint area of each extremity also has an inseam insert connected between the upper and lower radial seams.

Abstract: Protective garments having a modular storage system that enables the wearer to move and customize the position of pockets and other storage features, and hence the location of tools and other apparatus or accessories. The protective garment, including the modular storage system, are fire resistant such that they are in compliance with National Fire Protection Association and European Norm standards for firefighting garments set by the European Committee for Standardization, which is also known as Comité Européen de Normalisation, and may be integral with the protective garment.

Abstract: A protective garment is disclosed that has a gasket directly molded to fabric that defines an opening in the garment. The opening may receive a wrist, a hand, an ankle, a neck, or face of a wearer. In one embodiment, the fabric is part of a hood and the gasket includes an interface feature for sealingly engaging a breathing or respiratory mask with an airtight seal, vapor-tight seal, moisture tight seal, or combinations thereof.

When the top and bottom parts are worn by the wearer, the vapor skirt is positioned against the backside of the fold-over waistband and is self-tightened thereagainst as a seal that is generally impermeable to gases.
