Patents Assigned to LITONICS LIMITED
  • Patent number: 9363871
Abstract: A lighting control includes a primary and a secondary input power connection for connection to a primary (mains) and a secondary (battery) power supply respectively, control circuitry for controlling delivery of power from the input power connections to one or more light sources, sensing circuitry configured to sense an external impedance coupled, in use, to the primary input power connection and a controller for determining a present operating state of the one or more light sources. The controller includes a latching module adapted to maintain a state information indicating the present operating state of the one or more light sources. The control circuitry is operable to control delivery of power to the one or more light sources in dependence upon the sensed impedance measure and the determined operating state. The lighting devices may be installed in a conventional lighting circuit that uses momentary toggle switches.

  • Patent number: 9357609
Abstract: A lighting device has one or more light sources; a primary input power connection; and electronic circuitry for controlling delivery of power from the primary input power connection to the one or more light sources. The electronic circuitry determines an indication of an external electrical loading on a primary power supply network coupled, in use, with the primary input power connection the circuitry varies the power drawn from the primary input power connection in dependence upon the determined indication of the external electrical loading on the primary power supply network. In this way, during times of high demand on the primary supply network, the lighting device can reduce the amount of power drawn from the primary supply.

  • Patent number: 9307599
Abstract: In one embodiment of lighting devices and lighting systems, the lighting device has a connection for connecting to a primary power supply and has a secondary power supply, such as a battery. A measuring circuit is operable to measure an impedance of the primary power supply connection and to determine from the measurement if a main power supply has failed, and if so whether to power light sources using power from the secondary power supply.

  • Publication number: 20130148341
Abstract: A thermally conductive heatsink is for cooling a plurality of light emitters within a lamp, luminaire, lighting device or ancillary apparatus thereof, the heatsink having one or more holes, recesses, compartments, chambers or internal cavities for locating one or more cells, batteries or other charge storage devices able to provide power to electronic control circuitry and or light source(s). The internal cavities may additionally provide space to fully or partially locate electronic circuitry or electrical components. Conjointly to thermal operation, the heatsink may act as a chassis or holder for one or more components of the lamp, luminaire or lighting device. The cooling elements can be of any size, design or material, and the heatsink can have one or more parts each of any shape, design, construction or material.
