Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure relate to minimizing data usage over a communication link. A system may include a server configured to receive, via a first connection, a video stream from at least one camera. The server may also be configured to provide, via a second connection, the video stream to a user device. Further, the server may be configured to continue to provide the video stream to the user device via the second connection in response to reception of an indicator indicating that a user of the user device is actively viewing the video stream. Moreover, the server may be configured to cause the video stream from the server to the user device to be terminated in response to lack of receipt of the indicator within a predetermined time interval. Associated methods and systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: Methods and systems provided. A system may include at least one camera at a camera location, wherein the at least one camera is configured to record one or more videos and one or more images. The system may further include a server. The server may be configure to download at least one image of the one or more images captured at the camera location. The server may also be configured to display the one or more downloaded images. Further, the server may also be configured to, in response to a user selecting a displayed image of the one or more displayed images, download a specific portion of the previously recorded one or more videos captured at the camera location.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure are related to minimize data usage over a costly or slow communication link. When a user is not watching a video stream, the stream may be terminated preventing any further data usage on a metered data connection. A system may also include a user device and a back-end network with a stream manager service. The stream manager service terminates streaming over a wireless channel by an application of the user device when the user device determines one of inactivity of a user of the user device with the application or navigation on the user device away from the application.

Furthermore, various class objects also provide a real-time configuration capability of devices, routers, modems, VPNs, and NATs in the system. Accordingly, the system can be managed with minimal user involvement while maintaining ongoing accuracy.
