  • Patent number: 10278504
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a chair of the kind that is shipped to a user disassembled. The chair includes at least one chair function controller (i.e., a paddle) that is actuated to control a chair function operator (e.g., a gas cylinder located below and coupled to the chair seat). During assembly, a pair of cable sections are mechanically and serially connected to one another at a force responsive connector block that is located within and slidable through a cable connector housing at the bottom of the chair seat. By virtue of connecting the first and second cables together at the connector block, the chair function controller paddle is connected to the chair function operator so that an actuation of the controller causes a pulling force to be applied to the chair function operator to enable the seat or back of the chair to be displaced.

  • Patent number: 10220597
Abstract: A simulated wood veneer product is disclosed. The simulated wood veneer product includes a paper substrate and an imprintable wood fiber material applied to one side of the paper substrate. The imprintable wood fiber material provides the paper substrate with depth and allows the paper to receive and retain an imprinted wood grain texture. Once imprinted, the veneer product is printed with a simulated wood grain pattern to create a realistic simulated veneer product which is referred to herein as a “bonded veneer”. The bonded veneer product can then be adhered to a structural or composite wood panel, such as an MDF panel, to create a simulated wood veneer panel which can be used in the construction of furniture products.

  • Publication number: 20180363866
Abstract: A flame simulating assembly for providing a moving effect of flames. The assembly includes a light source; a flicker element disposed in the path of the light source configured and arranged to reflect light from the light source; and an imaging wall. The imaging wall is disposed above the light source and includes a front facet and at least one additional facet. The front facet has an upper portion disposed forward of a lower portion thereof and the at least one additional facet extending rearward from the front facet. Light from the flicker element is occluded by the front facet to provide a more realistic fire shape. The fire shape appears wider at the base than at the top.

  • Publication number: 20180363868
Abstract: A flame simulating assembly is provided with a reflected flickering light that includes only one light source. Light from the light source passes though a rotating flicker element onto an angled reflector, or mirror, that reflects light up onto a simulated fuel bed and the some of the light is reflected off of the flicker elements towards a flame screen to create a simulated flame. The clipping flicker elements creates a fluttering light effect due to the flicker elements “intermittently dipping” into the light path. This fluctuating light is reflected onto the logs and ember bed in front and creates a dancing effect, which simulates glowing embers.
