Abstract: Provided is a granular activated carbon which has a filtered flow rate of a predetermined value or higher, and a high water purification performance; and a method for manufacturing the same. A granular activated carbon comprises a plurality of activated carbon granules and a binder for binding the plurality of activated carbon granules, wherein the binder is composed of net-like fibers. Also, a method for manufacturing the granular activated carbon includes a step for spraying and drying slurry which is obtained by dispersing the activated carbon granules and the fibers in water.

Abstract: Provided is a toilet device which includes a toilet body including a toilet bowl part, and an analysis device that includes an optical member in contact with urine introduced into the toilet bowl part and that is capable of analyzing a constituent of the urine by detecting analysis light propagated within the optical member and totally reflecting off a urine contact surface of the optical member. An optical path for the analysis light is set such that the analysis light totally reflects off the urine contact surface of the optical member multiple times through multiple reflection. This can increase the number of times the analysis light reflects off the urine contact surface against urine.
Abstract: A hot water supply system includes a water supply pipe for supplying cold water, a hot water supply pipe for supplying hot water heated by a hot water supply device, a drain pipe for draining waste water, a heat exchange device for heating cold water supplied from the water supply pipe using the waste water, and a flow rate control mechanism for controlling, when supplying warm water obtained by mixing cold water heated by the heat exchange device and hot water heated by the hot water supply device, the flow rate of the cold water and the flow rate of the hot water so as to maintain the temperature of the warm water.

The secondary-side valve element includes a packing member that contacts the planar part of the primary-side valve element.
