  • Patent number: 5399963
Abstract: A meter provides an arrangement for the optional connection of its voltage circuit to a current path or to a calibration system. The arrangement includes an opening, provided in the housing of the meter for inserting a contact device connected to the calibration system, and a pivoting lever. On insertion of the contact device into the opening, the pivoting lever can be moved from an operating position, connecting the voltage circuit to the current path, into a calibration position connecting the voltage circuit to the calibration system. Consequently, the arrangement can be changed over between the operating position and the calibration position with a minimum possible cost.

  • Patent number: 4900179
Abstract: The mounting cross-piece or node assembly serves for the leak-tight connection of the cut ends of profile sections with one another. These profile sections are provided with an upper lengthwise extending opening and thus form a support or carrier construction or framework in the form of a grid or grid structure suspended at the ceiling of a room, especially a clean room. Filter frames and clean room filters can be mounted in gas-tight fashion in the grid structure. The mounting cross-piece assembly comprises at the cut surfaces of the profile sections to be interconnected and at the sides of the mounting cross-piece confronting such cut surfaces connection elements which can be secured in both of these components.

  • Patent number: 4768443
Abstract: The working apparatus, useful as a cleaning apparatus for textile machines, comprises a mobile servicing or working unit possessing a ventilator cooperating with air guide elements and operates in cleaning zones located at these textile machines. The servicing unit is movable on a track or rails. A stationary drive motor provides the relatively high power drive for the travel motion of the servicing unit along the track and for the ventilator by means of an endless belt trained over transmission members arranged at the servicing unit. These transmission members each contain different size coaxially arranged pulleys. By changing the position of one strand or run of the belt from a smaller size to a larger size pulley and vice-versa, the direction of movement of the travelling servicing unit can be selectively reversed. The movement of the servicing unit is monitored by a control device arranged at the servicing unit with the aid of terminal or limit switches and sensors.

  • Patent number: 4693904
Abstract: A process and apparatus for continuously sterilizing a cocoa paste, wherein the cocoa paste is subjected to a thin layer continuous treatment of deacidification, dehumidification and degasification in a thin layer device prior to delivery to a sterilization reactor. Following sterilization and cooling, the treated cocoa paste is conveyed to a second thin layer device for residual deacidification, dehumidification and degasification. While in the sterilization reactor, the cocoa paste is heated by mechanical mixing, generating a temperature in the range of 100.degree. C. to about 150.degree.C. which is necessary for degermination. The degermination temperature is held at its average value by an external heat exchanger. A cooling device is connected to the sterilization reactor at the outlet side thereof for cooling the treated cocoa paste to below 100.degree. C. before being conveyed to the second thin layer device for further treatment.

  • Patent number: 4389931
Abstract: A substantially funnel-shaped constricting fiber chute or shaft possesses at its lower portion blade springs forming a diaphragm or the like. These blade springs extend at an acute angle with respect to the lengthwise axis of the fiber chute. At their free ends these blade springs delimit an exit or outlet opening, by means of which the fiber chute opens into a container, such as a bag or sack or the like which is exchangeably secured at such fiber chute. A driveable plunger arranged coaxially with respect to the fiber chute possesses a plunger head which tapers in the outlet direction. The plunger head possesses a toothed or serrated band. Upon penetration of the plunger into the fiber chute or shaft the plunger head compacts fibers which have collected in the fiber chute and expresses such, while further compacting the same, into the sack. The equipment is particularly suitable for use at a fiber separator at which the fibers separated from a transport air current or stream drop into the fiber chute.

  • Patent number: 4382401
Abstract: In the openings at the side wall of an infeed or inflow channel there are inserted outlet or discharge elements having an oval cross-section which continuously tapers in the flow direction. The inlet-side portion of the outlet elements, protruding into the interior of the infeed channel, possesses an outwardly drawn or flexed end portion or section which terminates in spaced relation from the channel side wall and forms therewith a catch trough. Within this trough there is entrapped water which is deposited at the inner surface or wall of the infeed channel and which flows downwardly along the channel side wall. At the outlet side of each outlet or discharge element there is arranged a further catch trough which extends at the inner surface of the outlet side or opening along the circumference. This inwardly open catch trough is formed by an end portion or section of the outlet element which is flexed or bent back towards the inside.

  • Patent number: 4325781
Abstract: In a vessel (1), several mutually parallel evaporator tubes (2) are arranged which, on their outside, are surrounded by heating steam introduced into the interior (1a) of the vessel. A coaxial displacement body (3) is arranged in the interior of the evaporator tubes (2). A gap (5) is formed between the displacement body (103) and the surrounding evaporator tube (2). The displacement bodies (3) are fixed to a bottom (6) which is demountably joined to the vessel (1). The displacement bodies (3) can be removed by removing the bottom (6). The pre-evaporated product, introduced from below and leaving the evaporator tubes (2) at the top, is passed to a vapor-release vessel (11) in which a separation of vapors and concentrate takes place. Each displacement body (3) is formed by a rifled tube which has been provided by deformation with at least one spirally running recess (4). The product flows through both the gap (5) and this recess (4).

  • Patent number: 4300711
Abstract: Tubes or conduits, guiding slubbing or roving or the like during pneumatic transport thereof, terminate at a box or cabinet which delimits a compartment connected with the suction side of a ventilator. Within the compartment there is provided for each tube an elongate delay space or chamber, through which pass the slubbing while supported by guide elements, whereas the slubbing-transport air flows off into the compartment by means of throughpass openings. Between outfeed or outlet openings, through which the slubbing departs from the box, and the delay spaces or chambers there are provided dam-up spaces through which there does not flow the transport air and into which there also cannot enter any ambient or outside air, since the band-outlet openings are closed by closure elements, typically pairs of rolls acting as sealing elements. The dam-up spaces permit a brief storage of the incoming slubbing or the like.

  • Patent number: 4282058
Abstract: Internally of an insert arranged within a container there is disposed a pre-evaporator, which at its lower end has an inlet for the starting material and at its upper end opens into a treatment compartment or chamber. The pre-evaporator is surrounded by a heating jacket whose outer surface serves as a heated treatment wall. For forming a thin layer there coact, with such treatment wall, up and down movable wiper elements. Arranged coaxially with respect to the insert or insert member, within the container, is a surface condenser. The starting material or product which is to be processed, is pre-evaporated within the pre-evaporator and subjected, along the treatment wall, to a final evaporation. The lighter volatile constituents condense at the surface condenser, and the condensate can be separately outfed from the concentrate which is formed during the final evaporation.
