  • Patent number: 4760645
Abstract: A pole mounted pruning tool with a pair of cutting jaws, one being pivotally movable in relation to the other to effect a cutting action. The movable jaw is pivoted by an operating lever which has an adjustable length, thereby providing a means of varying the cutting torque.

  • Patent number: 4644652
Abstract: A lopper has first and second pivotably interconnected blades arranged on opposite sides of a cutting plane. The blades have arcuate cutting edges defining a crescent shaped opening which maintains the same configuration as it gradually diminishes in size before eventually disappearing as the cutting edges bypass each other during a cutting operation. Preferably, one of the blade tips extends angularly away from the cutting plane.

  • Patent number: 4610354
Abstract: A mounting and display card for a tool of the type having a pair of pivotably interconnected jaws, each jaw being connected to a handle, and the handles being pivotably interconnected and adjustable between open and closed positions to open and close the jaws. The card includes a pair of overlapping panels, each having an upper portion adapted to underlie the jaws of the tool, and a lower portion defining a display area with a margin adapted to underlie one of the handles of the tool. The panels are connected to each other for relative pivotal movement about an axis which is coincident with the pivotal axis of the tool handles, and connectors are employed to detachably secure each handle of the tool to one of the panels along a margin thereof.

  • Patent number: 4238058
Abstract: A pair of housing side sections and a pair of circular housing end sections cooperate to define a cylindrical chamber containing a bladed rotary valve element mounted on a shaft that is journaled in the end sections. The side sections have semicylindrical surfaces that cooperate to provide the cylindrical wall surface of the chamber, and respective inlet and outlet passageways between the chamber and the exterior of the housing. The housing end sections have circular edge surfaces of the same diameter as that of the cylindrical chamber, and circumferential flanges projecting radially outwardly from the circular edge surfaces and received in circumferential recesses in the cylindrical wall of the chamber. The side housing sections have interengaging surfaces projecting radially outwardly from the chamber, and a device extending through the interengaging surfaces for securing all of the housing sections together.

  • Patent number: 4109328
Abstract: A modular furniture system is disclosed which consists of functional modules that can be oriented, stacked and interlocked to create different furniture assemblies. The modules include identical rectangular enclosures, one of which contains drawers and another a cupboard and retractable writing surface. The enclosures can be stacked one on top of the other with a portion of the uppermost enclosure supporting one end of an upper bunk bed module. Another support means supports the other end of the bunk bed. An apparatus is also disclosed for interlocking the stackable enclosures and the upper bunk bed end to the uppermost enclosure. A removable cover is provided for the exposed portion of the uppermost enclosure adjacent the end of the bunk bed. By varying the width of the removable cover, a shelf of variable area can be provided. One end of a lower bunk bed module can be positioned within the enclosure formed by the upper bed and its two end supports.
