Abstract: A bulk tank trailer including an interior storage compartment, at least one straight rear wheel axle supporting a plurality of ground-engaging wheels and a longitudinally aligned discharge pipe in operative communication with the interior storage compartment is disclosed. The entire discharge pipe may be positioned above a transverse plane of the at least one straight rear wheel axle. A method of discharging particulate materials is also disclosed. The method includes filling an interior storage compartment on a bulk tank trailer with the particulate materials, positioning a straight discharge pipe above a straight rear wheel axle on the bulk tank trailer, moving the particulate materials from the interior storage compartment along the straight discharge pipe and discharging the particulate materials from the discharge pipe.

Abstract: A dump body apparatus including a dump body having an exterior wall defining a compartment for carrying a load. The exterior wall includes a front wall and first and second sidewalls. A first corner wall extends between the front wall and the first sidewall. The first corner wall is oriented at an obtuse angle relative to one or both of the front wall and the first sidewall. An opening is defined in the first corner wall and is in communication with the compartment. A door selectively closes off access to the compartment and a step may be provided below the door. An angled second corner wall may be provided between the front wall and the second sidewall. The angles of the first and second corner walls provide relatively unobstructed lines of sight for a driver seated in a cab of a vehicle that includes the dump body.

The shape of the belly pad is configured to provide structural support for the trailer which is beneficial especially when the trailer is raised and lowered, typically through hydraulic mechanisms.

Each body portion is formed from two or more panels joined together with butt-joint welds. The forward portion is first formed by welding planar sections together. After the body portion is formed from the plurality of planar panels, the larger planar portion is rolled in a rolling system to define the arcuate shape of trailer body. Then, the forward and rear body portions are welding together with a transversely extending butt-weld.

Then, the first trolley is displaced in a second direction while simultaneously drawing the container via the cable from the second container position to a third container position generally adjacent the front of the trailer.

Abstract: An air fairing device is connected below the bottom a frameless trailer to improve aerodynamic efficiency and improve fuel economy. One embodiment of the air fairing device provides an air deflector positioned forward of a trolley which supports the frameless trailer at a rear end. A second embodiment of the air fairing device provides two deflectors mounted below the frameless trailer. The first deflector is attached and extends downward from an articulating arm, said arm connecting the trailer to a semi-tractor or truck. The second deflector connected to below the bottom of the frameless trailer and positioned rear of the first deflector and forward of the trolley. A third embodiment is similar to the second but further includes a third deflector positioned between two axles of the trolley.
