Patents Assigned to MacSema, Inc.
  • Patent number: 7908118
Abstract: A system and method for testing and replacing equipment are disclosed. The system may include a first memory module configured to store first characteristics of the first equipment; a second memory module configured to store second characteristics of the second equipment; and a portable reader configured to read the first and second memory modules and to compare the second characteristics with the first characteristics to determine if the second equipment is a suitable replacement for the first equipment. The method may include storing first characteristics of a first equipment on a first memory module; transmitting the first characteristics to a portable reader; measuring second characteristics of a second equipment using a measuring device associated with the portable reader; and comparing, with the portable reader, the second characteristics with the first characteristics to determine if one of the first and second equipment is a suitable replacement for the other equipment.

  • Patent number: 7680625
Abstract: The present disclosure includes systems, apparatus, and methods for monitoring a pipeline network having plural inspection sites. The system comprises a memory module associated with one or more inspection sites, with each memory module storing one or more performance parameters corresponding to the associated inspection site. The system also comprises a measuring device operable to collect performance data of each associated inspection site. The system further comprises a portable reader configured to read the memory module, and in association with the measuring device, to compare the one or more performance parameters with the performance data to validate the performance data while in proximity to the associated inspection site.

  • Patent number: 5576936
Abstract: A compact electronic data module is provided which includes non-volatile memory, device. The memory device is mounted on a printed circuit board, which in turn is housed in a unitary tubular casing. The memory device is in the form of an integrated circuit (in a low-height package, such as a flat-pack or SOIC) which is mounted on the printed circuit board. One side of the printed circuit board is exposed to provide exterior contacts and the other side is placed inside the casing and covered with potting material. Simple wiring on the small board, using a through-hole vias, suffices to route power, ground, and data lines to the integrated circuit, while providing a sealed durable package with three external contacts.

  • Patent number: 5539252
Abstract: A fastener is provided with onboard memory in the form of a non-volatile memory device. The fastener defines a casing with an elongate body and a transverse gripping head, such casing defining a bore into which the nonvolatile memory device is placed. The memory device is mounted on a circuit board having a first side which defines a plurality of electrically conductive contacts for use in communicating with the memory device. The electrically conductive contacts are selectively exposed to provide access to the memory device. The other side of the circuit board is placed inside the casing and covered with potting material. Simple wiring on the small board, using through-hole vias, suffices to route power, ground, and data lines to the memory device, while providing a sealed durable package with at least three external contacts and fastening capabilities.
